He doesn't operate a quack hospital... He is not the owner
He works in a healthcare facility that doesn't have all he needs to function properly.
If given an offer in a world-class facility, he would have accepted it.
But then he tried to make the best out of the seemingly bad situation BTW how many doctors have first aid kits handy..,.and should have not been beaten up for the baby's life

So a politician from Abuja should come and do his work for him? A politician should help him start the ABC of resuscitation. I just can't believe how stuupid some people are. Please don't tell me you are this stuupid!

-CramJones
Excuse me?? I was referring to his call on the policy aspect. I haven't said anything on the fact that he couldn't do the needful. The politicians can always treat the policy aspect but the OP also failed in his duties if he was actually remorseful

You deserve to be in prison and very soon you shall be there. I assure you that. Our health care system will change and vomit vampires like you.
ur hate for doctors knows no bounds. Can i ask, did u attempt to enter med skl and failed? Did a dr snatch ur babe? Wat makes u hate us so much? Anyways let me now be frank, as far as nigeria is concerned, a doctor CANNOT easily go to jail as most litigations are settled out of court. Please tell ur shrink to educate u better on medico-legal issues

[size=13pt]OP, with due respect, this is the reason I get furious when doctors in government hospitals begin clamoring for more pay or better working conditions.
In all my life, I have not met a more heartless group of cold blooded murderers like the doctors in govt hospitals. Especially the state owned ones. The federal is no better. They are all a bunch of lazy, overpaid and over pampered figure heads who do not care about upholding there sacred oath.

But for bearing false witness against me by calling me a murderer makes u deserve a special spot in hell fire close to the devil himself. You will rot in hell while I will be rewarded daily for my humanitarian assistance

This is hilarious. You're really pained. If we're semi-illiterates, inconsiderate, very wicked etc, then why do you guys still run to Nigerian doctors? You might as well hire a foreign doctor to treat you. grin... Oga take am easy ooo.
I don't because I have been privileged to see things differently. However, we cannot continue to run away. I have seen new borns and their moms die for flimsy reasons. I have seen slight issues complicated by doctors' negligence.

I associate a lot with medical practitioners. They know the truth. They know what is wrong. They know the standard has dropped and is declining further. That is why these quacks must be behind bars.

I pity you semi-illiterate Doctor, who is arrogant and yet broke. Lack both the skill and knowledge to troubleshoot illness. Frustrated and do not understand his frustration.

Unfortunately for you and your vampire lots, we are working to catch your kind and I hope you become my first victim. That is not a joke.

Our healthcare system will change. We shall no longer tolerate mad pretentious fools like yourself. You will be caught and then you shall truly understand what being negligent is all about.

Take your residency program seriously. I understand many of you don't.
What a load of bollocks from somebody on the periphery of the medical profession.
You don't know what the practice involves. You are not even a health professional. Just somebody who knows some doctors on a padi-padi level.
I've read all your comments and zero have made any sense. The problem is only a microcosm of the country-wide rot which has affected every sector of our nation.
You've used all sorts of vile language on people who you know nothing of.
After insulting doctors as pretentious illiterates, you still carry your body to their hospital and form humility
Nonsense!

U shld have done sth to help d poor girl but u choose to watch her die on ur boss orders, u n ur boss r both killers n murderer. U have blamed it on Govt abi, y were u on duty in dt Hosp when u can't treat patients on critical health condition?

Most Doctors are murders and too money conscious, u all r wicked. This ur post shld b titled "how I and my boss murdered our patient "

Bitter experience indeed!!! U dnt care abt human live so shout up at once. If it was ur sis in dt state n ur boss gave dt order wat would u ve done? Sure u will deposit ur money abi, y didn't u deposit for this one at least until their ppl shows up.

If u deposited ur money I would have nominated u for a national award but right nw I feel like arresting u n ur boss for murder angry
ur tone is very harsh.
But sadly enough u are very correct.
The doctor shud have done something to preserve the lives of the victims regardless of the orders of his idiot superior.
The entire post shows that he was naive and stu.pid. But then what can we say............?
Most doctors in Nigeria pretend to be naive and stu.pid when they are about to commit murder.
As far as concerned, nothing other than a gun pointed at his head should stop him from doing every possible to save the lives of those pple.
If I were a doctor, that will be my position. I will treat this pple (At least stabilize them first) and Damn the consequences

Poor assumption, my first bachelor degree was in the medical field. I graduated with honours, but refused to practice. I have a second bachelor degree with a masters in a field I have come to love passionately and regretted not embarking on early enough. I have no regrets abandoning the medical field, however, regretted being pushed into it by family. I know the frustration, I know the issues especially in this country, my graduating class are still deep in it after a decade and 6 years. It is a system that killed my mother even when she worked in it. To clear the air, my mom was an assistant director in federal ministry of health - hence, my knowledge on allocations to hospitals.

I am not assuming, second guessing or just complaining. I know first hand the wickedness perpetrated by doctors and how they hide behind the government even when allocations have been made. I know how they cherish strike actions and long for it.

They destroyed our healthcare system.

Sorry about your late mom but as a deputy director in mininstry of health, she MAY HAVE cornered some of the funds meant to develop hospitals. Also i was right u failed in trying to read medicine. Apart from nursing, every other person in medical profession wanted to be a dr but failed. It clearly explains why you hate doctors so much

Am a doctor too in a federal medical centre and i partially understand u in the issue of hierarchy.
Buh you were first on call for a reason.
This simply means u shuld call ur superiors whn the matter gets out of hand..
U shuld hv stablised ur patients..the much you could...before making calls. You dint...
What I see here is an incompetent doctor who at best choked under pressure or at worse dint knw wat to do.

Madam, you will not understand. He works in a quack hospital. It is his professional duty to escalate issues. They never do so but continue to carry on with their activities. His inactions of not escalating caused the death of that premature baby. These hospitals cut corners and should not exist.

What more could the doctor I quoted have done?
He should have manufactured incubators and gotten a bigger oxygen bag and used mystical powers to keep the baby alive?

I have been in an emergency ward for some days and I saw some doctors to suffer for things beyond their control?

Medical sector is most funded sector and enhanced in Naija and these doctors cannot wait a month b4 they still embark on strike to fund the individual private practices at the detriment of our lives and u still support them.
Let me give u clue to know how provided they are, every civil and private workers salary is deducted of what the refer to NHF such monies run at least 3k for a fresh graduate monthly deduction, this monies are send for health care provision. providing of basic needed health care provision for u and I at 10 percent payment fee.
The thing here is 99 % of you here don't knw this and so is the civil servants and so these things are lying wasted yr after year and this docs either siphon the monies or the drugs to their use etc.
Hence how is this doctor sure the patient is not a payer of NHF and his actions says to her if she or her fiancee is a health tax payer that;
1;-I've rob u of ur monies
2. I 've rob u of ur live
3.I am here to rob of ur right and u will ignorantly support it.

We always have options in life, we may not like the option itself, but let no one deny the fact that we will always have options in life!

OP, you own a big portion of the blame. Irrespective of wether you got order from above or below. When one wants to save a life, they simply do so not withstanding the circumstances, because it's simply the right thing to do. Humanity should come first before other irrelevancy.

Enough of the hateful arguments.. the system is a failed one, where i am, those doctor that work in Accident and Emergency, passionate enough and know the system well have a way the borrow stuff from pharmacy in there, and over ride some protocol to get stuff necessary for resuscitation and the return them when patient relatives or sponsors like FRSC comes around. and both ways everyone happy.. he was probably new to the system, but to think there is a protocol even in teaching hospital to cater for accident emergencies before payment is false.. PASSIONATE DOCTOR KNOW HOW TO OVERRIDE SOME PROTOCOLS, IF NOT THE SYSTEM IS FAILED.. SOMETIME COMMON GLOVES U WONT FIND.. we should leave the argument here.. we should sensitize our policy makers,. yesterday it was Her, it could be you tomorrow.. shalom, REST IN PEACE TO THE DEAD.
