No need to cry foul. If you were not contacted, that implies that either you're not fully qualified or a better qualified person has taken the position. You are not the first to be in such position, neither is such only applicable to NLNG. |

lomprico:Most likely that your guy lied. If they wanted to replace him, he wouldn't even get invited for interview. That person would have been invited. About meritocracy of recruitment process in Nigeria, Nigeria LNG tops my list after having first hand experience with the Company's recruitment process. |

CHM11:Dude! I was with him when he made the call, I saw him cry and wail after d call, his mum has to even take him to see their prophet. Things like this happen in companies u will never ever expect it to, this is nigeria. |

lomprico:I find this hard to believe tho, not that I don't believe Nigeria LNG did some form of favoritism but for the fact that someone else resumed with his name??... Wow!!!!!! |
| Re: NLNG - My Interview & Confusion. by CHM11: 9:34am On Jun 24, 2015 |
airsaylongcon:Bro this is just a normal recruitment process where the OP was not selected and for NLNG being what you and I know her to be, they closed the recruitment process with a mail informing him that the position had been filled. But for lomprico 's friend who got someone else resume work with his name and details. I am left in awe. |

bluesaint:Methinks, you weren't qualified for the job as a Project Administrator. If you were able to mesmerised the Interviewers, decorum wouldn't allow you to come here and asked us what we think happened after the interview, when your question would have been best answered by your insider. Why did you even think we knew more than your insider? |

CHM11:I believe you're talking about their graduate recruitment process which isn't what the Op's talking about but do you honestly believe that that is even as much as 90% merit? Haha |

People like you are among those people that will always cry foul after you have failed a recruitment process that it is filled with favoritism. The OP did not mention that the recruitment was for NLNG direct staff but it is for a contract position. It is likely it was the contractor company working for NLNG that invited him for the interview.NLNG will always advertise their recruitment publicly and it is always transparent. I will tell you that recruitment in NLNG is as transparent as anything and you can even request for your performance if you are in doubt. Whenever you are saying anything always be fact based. If you don't know please ask for clarification mildteddy: |

If you believed what you are saying is correct and is fact based ,mention the name of the person and the post he was interviewed for and the year he applied and I will ask my contacts to confirm your story. lomprico: |

I had similar experience 2yrs ago with one of the leading pharm. Company in Nigeria. The recruitment was also an in-indoor one, and my cv was pushed by someone I never met even as I write. I was invited for an aptitude test as a medical sales rep. It was an opportunity I should not allow to slip off my finger, so I did prepare well. On that faithful day I was the 2nd candidate among the seven of us to arrive their office along Ikorodu rd(between Anthony and Obanikoro). The first phase of the interview(aptitude test) went well though I realised I made a terrible mistake-- when the examiner returned back to the hall to collect the papers, I was few questions away from rounding up. So at the cost of ensuring I attempted all the questions, I at random, horridily fill in A, B, C.., even into more numbers than contained in the question paper. Lol Three days later I was invited for oral interview(the final phase). The invitation unlike the conventional way, came two days prior to the interview. I was asked to acknowledge the invitation. So I quickly put call to a friend of mine who told me that acknowledging the invitation does not need much to do; that I should just reply them to prove I received their invitation. I think this is where things went wrong cause a day later, the company wrote me, telling me that the date for the interview has been cancelled and the new date will be communicated to me later. I called their office and a lady who answered the phone told me she acted on instruction. I ignored all these and went to their office the following day(the interview date) only to find out to myself that they were actually conducting oral interview to 12 candidates, and only this 12 names pasted in the security post were allowed entrance. The lest na story. |

bluesaint:Generally speaking, when a person goes for an interview, he or she should have at least three to five questions to ask the interviewers. It tells them that A) you've done your research on the company, B) you're very interested in the company, C) and it may lead to extended conversation with the interviewers and make you stand out from the rest. |

jossy404:Be fact based? You've got to be kidding me! Please be sure you read what I putted down before you quote me next time bro. Thank you. Well you just left me to wonder why we are discussing this issue here if your NLNG was so 'transparent' in the op's case and in two of my cases, as well. |
