I thought they said they were militants. Besides these old guys doesn't strike me as those young bank robbers.
Besides, they used automatic rifles with bullets and not pump action with cartridges.

APC at work, if you are not their members you will be a culprit.

This story is very contradictory and confusing. The police with their shoddy investigations coupled with poor journalism lends credence to my earlier statement.
From the picture all I can see are pump action shotguns which come in slide action or semi automatic mode of firing. The question is, when did the Nigerian military start using shotguns in their operations in the North east? To the best of my knowledge the standard issue assault rifle of the military is the AK 47.
Somewhere within the write up, It was mentioned that money exchanged hand and a license was procured for the firearms. Is it that the police are incapable of investigating how these licenses were issued and abused if that may be the case?
lastly the Lekki, Agbara and ikorodu robberies were carried out with Ak 47 and general purpose machine guns so the police have the wrong set of arms dealers and should refrain from running to the press to sensationalize their inefficiencies.

Yeye Journalism. Wetin concern Niger Delta for inside this matter? All the names mentioned are non-Niger Deltans. The journalist that published the 'news' and his/her Editor are personification of incompetence, cluelessness and unprofessionalism.
God bless you that us as result when someone has master degree in journalism or mass communication he or she will begin to write report like someone just coming out of kwale weed jungle.

Seems you have never been accused of a crime you know nothing about by the police. In the absence of the true culprits, they arrest and Jail whoever they can lay hands on.

I'm really expecting the day Abba Kyari will be duly honoured by the Federal Government. Not only has he busted difficult crime cases as head of the Lagos State SARS, He has continued to show himself as indispensable to the whole Nigeria Police Service and the Nation at large. No wonder he is the first on the log whenever daring missions are to be embarked on.
He has not gotten any award yet from any Newsapaper, Security Organisation or even government agencies, which he rightfully deserves.

Nigerians let's celebrate this man!!

Thumbs up to Abba Kyari, A distinguished Officer

I can confidently corroborate you on the fact that the robberies in those places cited were carried out with mostly AK-47s. These half-baked journalists can just mash up information so badly

Yes, my friend. I certainly will. I detest tribalism of any sort. I am Yoruba but I think I have more ibo than Yoruba friends. I am also married to an ibo girl. I see the individuals around me as Nigerian and I don't discriminate based on tribe or background. Anyone who does so is closing his or her mind to the beauty in human diversity

I'll want to be like you when I grow up, lol, the tribalism that goes on in this forum get me sick. It is very difficult to go through a topic on nairaland without tribal profiling, some might be doing it for fun or to get traffic bt it affect others psychologically.
