Just when we thought a smartphone manufactuer has got the market under wraps, another manufacturer makes a statement that electrifies the air. There are phones that everyone talks about incessantly but there are also great phones that really don’t get the airspace they deserve – Infinix Zero 2 was simply too powerful to get little attention.

However, we still had some totally awful phones in 2015, they happen to be a ridiculous excuse for being a phone – we may not be able to forgive the so-called Yezz Mobile for trying to shove down the throat of Nigerians, their down-market phones. It’s a good things mobile users replied the company by withholding their wallet.

That said, looking back at how 2015 was redefined by brands that have earned a fantastic reputation, one can smile, knowing that Nigeria is no longer a dumping ground for crappy phones.

Infinix Zero 2 released ahead of its time, hence it was not appreciated. Infinx Zero 2 is fantastic piece of engineering milestone that provokes envy from other smartphone manufacturers. The smartphone rocks a 5-inch Super AMOLED panel, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 2GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage with expandability options.

The Zero 2 which packs the kevlar fiber shell is the most cleverly designed phone of 2015. What fascinates me, cementing the engineering master-class of the phone is where the speakers are located, just at the bottom which ensures maximum audio quality at all times.

Infinix Zero 2 is a deal breaker, a slim device that didn’t get much love from mobile users in Nigeria and for us at TechRez, the Infinix Zero 2 is the most underrated smartphone in 2015, in Nigeria’s mobile market. The first smartphone that proved a premium build doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

Infinix has truly come a long way. I was comparing the Infinix Zero 2 and the recently released Infinix Zero 5.
The two phones are worlds apart.

Zero 2 was made in 2015. Zero 5 in 2018. I also compared the Infinix Hot and the recently released Infinix Hot S3. The difference is amazing. This makes me wonder about phones that we will be using for two years to come.
