Hi. On Nov 11th, I bought this item from an Aliexpress seller on 11/11 Day (their Black Friday/ Cyber Monday equivalent in China.) Prices of items are being slashed on that day. I saw a bag I liked. The price of the bag showed that they had slashed it from $53 to $12. I thought to myself, "wow, this bag that originally cost $53 would be a very quality item". Let me grab it for this bonanza price of $12. I paid for the bag and it was shipped to me. I just received the bag now from the post office, and to be frank with, I'm very disappointed at the quality of the bag. It looks very inferior. I could have gotten something of a better quality even here in Nigeria than this trash. I feel cheated by the seller. How do I handle them? 1. Should I go ahead and mark the order completed and then leave a negative review for the seller? 2. Or should I claim that I didn't receive the item and then open a dispute with the seller so that they'll give a refund or send another bag? Note: the bag was sent through China Post and on the label, they wrote "untracked". That means it apparently wasn't tracked. Please, those with experience of buying from Aliexpress should come in and give suggestions. Abeg, keep off if you've not bought from Aliexpress before. I feel cheated. This seller sent me an inferior item. |

tripplephi:Thank you. The funny thing is that this is not my first time buying from Aliexpress. At least, I've successful purchased a laptop and few other electronics from Aliexpress with success. I did check the reviews before ordering and surprisingly, the reviews are all 4star+. I beginning to think they sent me a different item, but the picture matches. And all the reviews were before 11/11 that means those who initially bought the bag bought it at the regular price which is supposed to be $53. That's the main reason why I said the bag must be nice since it cost much. So I grabbed it at the $12 11/11 Singles Day bonanza offer. But here am I with a f**kd up bag. Of course, I used Escrow. What would happen if I request a refund? What about the item with me? How we go do am? What if I claim that the bag never got to me? |

Do not claim you did not received the item. That is a very bad thing to do. Instead, open dispute on the account that the item was not as described. If you're fortunate the seller might refund you in full or partially, otherwise you will be asked to send back the item to claim full refund. (Reason being you were sent the item you ordered, not another one). If you were sent another item totally different from the one ordered, you have better chance of full refund. Your best option is to reach a resolution with with the seller. Threaten to leave negative feedback if necessary. |

I have been in this situation before, but with a tablet which was obviously fake. I took photographs of the item I received and put them side by side with a genuine item and then used these pictures to open an "Item not as described" case. It took over a month, and I had to return the tablet I purchased, but I got my money back in the end. All the best. |

If you understand my plight, you'd notice that picture of the item matches the one sent to me only that it's inferior. What if the seller is adamant to refund but rather prefers the negative review, what should I do? Even if I'm told to return the item, that would be another wahala because I don't know what it would cost me. A partial refund may be okay but the question is, is it possible? Let's forget about whether it's right or wrong to claim I didn't get it. All I'm interested in is getting a "fair trial". If claiming I didn't get the item would work, why not? After all, na $12. So you are advising me to sort it out with the seller? Is he likely to comply? What if he doesn't comply? Wetin I go do? |

akagson:The reason you might not get the refund without returning the item is what you stated. The item you received looks like the one you ordered. With that, best case scenario if you open dispute is you'll asked to return the item before you can get refund, which is going to cost you some money. If you claim you did not received the item that is no longer "fair" If the seller is adamant to refund you, then you will have to wait for AE to jugde the case in which case the verdit is likely to be as I stated above. Claiming you did not received it should not be an option to consider. Keep in mind, should the seller decide to refund you partially/full outside of AE resolution center be prepared to provide a PayPal account to receivethe refund. I really hope you get this resolved soon. |

akagson:I lost money in the end as it cost me about £50 to post the tablet to China, but I bought them for about £200 so it was worth the postage fee |
