If/When you are arrested on any flimsy excuse, including simply falling out with the government/party, by any of the law enforcement agents, they can rely on Buhari's practice to keep you locked up for ever.

What you should ask yourself is: Could our security operatives have presented a fool-proof case against these people that will ensure they never get bail? Do you just go arrest people without proper charges and thereafter start looking for evidences? In serious countries security operative don't arrest people and then start concouting charges to hold them perpetually.
What is currently going on does not portend good omen for out democratic value if you understand what that means. You don't set a bad precedence because you want to use your personal power to right a wrong. The issue of guilt should be left for court as an institution and not what the president should pronounce on his personal term. If you take people to court without proper charges they have legal right to fight for their fundamental human right of freedom. That under whatever circumstance cannot and must not be tampered with. Reason: if we allow the impunity to stand we set a bad precedence and tomorrow it is used to oppress more people. We are not living in a lawless clime and the president cannot claim to be and operate above the law. The money stolen is state money and not president personal money. Let due process on all cases be followed else we slide gradually and unconsciously into anarchy.

I really don't think you understand that part of what cost Bush and the Republicans presidency is what you are talking about. Americans kicked and protested against wanton detention of people without charges. American image nosedived under Bush because of abuse and Obama came in and promised to make necessary amendment. Many who were unduly and unjustifiably detained had long been released since Obama came to power. Guatanamo bay presently is no a place of extra judicial detention but a place to keep hardened terrorist deem dangerous to American mainstream prison. Did you hear of human right abuse under Obama? Anybody you see presently in detention has a law backing his detention. Please stop spreading falsehood. The world all over is kicking against human right abuse. If the government want to arrest and charge people, let them build necessary intelligence to support it. Lack of necessary intelligence is not enough excuse to abuse people's rights and to bastardise our judicial system and process. We are no longer in military regime.
