lastmanstandn:what is dis one saying? What is impunity? In case u don't knw, impunity is wen u swear to uphold d constitutn but select d part u want to uphold as buhari is doing by flounting d order of courts. Adherence to d rule of law as we witnessed under gej is not impunity if u're teachable. Why clamour 4 democracy wen what u wnt is military rule to promulgate decrees n set panels as parallel court. |

So what do you call the illegal execution of an American citizen on Yemeni soil. Or the continuous and illegal detention of citizens of several countries in Guatanamo Bay? And some have been freed after 11years in detention without trial. When it comes to issues of national security, The law is sidelined. |

DeviIhimself:I suggest u vent ur anger and frustration on some other issues. U want to tell me d@ if someone is arrested and charge to Court for stealing, and subsequently released on bail such a person is now immune to an arrest for another CRIME. See d law permits rearrest, d@s Y when u are discharged and acquitted on a case u can not be arrested on such a case again! Was kanu acquitted? Negative, was he arrested on charges d@ he was granted bail upon? Negative, so U see u gat no case. Just wait for d man to prove his innocences b4 d courts. If DSS wants to arrest and charge Him on one count at a time d@s their problem, d law dos not hinder them. Oh before U confuse me for Yoruba person, I'm actually from Benue State. I hv no problem with Kanu nd his folks far East, neither do I affiliate my self with d OPC in the West, its jst d@ d truth must be accepted. |

Being the devil's advocate: How should we release him? imagine, he had two passports which he came wit to Nigeria but yet he didn't use anyone at the embassy. is this not corruption. we can't release someone who has comited such atrocities. - PMB |

[s] asfrank:[/s] Rubbish this is why I said that nairaland is full of people blinded by hate which makes them twist facts to suit their own bigot ways. ok it's not about national security now the high Court Judge granted kanu an unconditional release and i ask you did kanu got re-aressted or did dss controlled by the executive bluntly refused to obey the court order? . answer that or forever shut up your buccal cavity there |

These foreign media and their Nigerian collaborators need to be reminded that local Issues only need local solutions. PMB knows what Nigerians can do. If DSP could jump bail in far away UK, we don't need any prophet to tell us these criminals will jump bail once released.$2.2bn is a lot of money and it contibuted a great deal to the current financial mess the country is into. The judiciary has long been compromised. This is a country where petty thiefs are sentenced to life imprisonment without an option of fine and one who stole trillions is just told to pay N200 million and set free. We can not continue like this. U don't keep doing something the same way and expect a different result. They need to be adequately punished to serve as a lesson to other looters and criminals in the country. |

DeviIhimself:Haha!! If those in favour of Kanu's ordeal are blind by hate and such cannot make informed judgement on issues relating to him, then it can be well asserted that most of who are loyal to his course are blinded by lust for self determination. Well for me, I gain absolutely nothing from his ordeal, I listened to Kanu's speech in US, just once nd then I said to my self, is it the type of person any sane nigerian would run down streets for? U d'nt just wage WAR!! Haba, I'm sure u guys know this, u first examine the cost and benefit, all this things apply in other aspects of life not just in the shop, u guys were happy when he was making all sort of noise, throwing comments here and there, where were U d@ u did not bring him to order or at least try other ways of self determination? U thought he was right? Oh yes, because of love, he is always right. Well in that case I would say I hate him, but to be honest with U I do not give a single concern whether he roams d street free, or has been kept behind bars. I d'nt know Y, National Security or Not, DSS determine when and on what grounds to arrest him. If u people think the DSS went against court orders then Kanu has a team of Lawyers, let them take up the case, it surprise me that even the ones that know d law are not even saying anything, its the laymen that claims to know what is what. A coin has Two faces, its about everything, treason nd national security, can u separate them? If u can, tell me. |

Tolexander:Guatanamo bay had a basis in law covering its existence. The question people like you should answer is where does this tyrant derive the power to flout the 1999 constitution which he swore to uphold. Nigeria is indeed headed for crisis with this tyrant because the same constitution that gives him authority to preside, has not given him the authority to undermine other arms of governement irrespective of whatever case he claims to have against the accused. |

arresa:And where were those charges @ first? Why should we have to start beating around the bush again. No concrete evidence yet you accuse them of crime and unlawfully and without moral detain people. They would go to court now and then they would free this people and then the cycle again. Please does that make any sense to you? With this we wouldn't be a Third World Country anymore instead we would be Fifth World Country. Its 2016, pls turn a new leaf. |

etebefia:So long his action is for the common good, an average Nigerian who is tired of corruption melding with the progress of this great nation, would not give a damn and neither do I. Buhari will do any necessary, I mean whatever it will take to see to it that these looters don't go unpunished. Now, that's the president I voted for... And you don't tell me nothing about "Democracy" no country in the world practice true Democracy, not even USA, so give me a break! |
