you can just downgrade the firmware and hack it, so that's really not a pro

Not as easy as it sounds.
If the firmware is over 3.55 or the model no is 25** or above, it would require a E3 dongle to downgrade it. Quite expensive/stressful procedure.

These things you mentioned, where can they be found? Tried system info, but only saw mac address and hard drive size, which is 160gb btw.

Settings> System settings> System Information.
The firmware version is there. U can post a screen shot
U can find the model number on the label behind the console.

for that price.. I swear.. No body wud buy it.. My ps3 got more specs than urs.. And 8 games.. With more assessories yet I sold it for 40...
