My dream of gaining admission was tattered by unilorin in the just concluded year (2015),my determination was hightened when most of my friends would tell me the are in schools already,i went to seek advices to know the most reliable school when it comes to gaining admission,all they kept telling me then was to choose unilorin,i'm quoting one of those that adviced me then "unilorin's admission is only based on merit,once you pass you'll be admitted".
To cut it short,i had 228 in jamb hoping to study economics in unilorin,when the post utme also came i had 70%,after the exam,i was expecting my name on the merit list like i have been told,to my suprise i was not shortlisted where 42% percent was reportedly making the merit list,this is injustice,whenever i think of all i went through during the process of gaining admission into that school,i'm traumatised.
Planning to take another jamb and i really need ur advice fellow nairalander:which school is the most reliable?

To have upper hand to be admitted into unilorin , This are 2 things u need to know :

1. U must b an indigene
2.U must b a muslim

Scoring high score doesn't determine u gaining admission into unilorin. My advice for u is to go study in ur state of origin. They will consider indigene first before non indigene.

Unilorin is a fed institution and also the most sorted after in Nigeria.
selecting economics required more than 70 and 228 in jamb to be on the merit list.
Many scored above 70 and were all denied admission.
You need 240 and nothing less than 80 to be considered for Admission because you are not an indigene of ilorin.
On the issue of candidate with a low score gaining admission, you can choose a less competitive course ( edu,geo/marketing and others )
Even in OAU you can't get Economics with your score, however, I will suggest University of ibadan.
Ibadan is based on cut off mark unlike unilorin that does not reveal their cut off mark to the public.
