A popular commercial driver was shot dead between Aramoko and Igede in Ekiti state few minutes ago by unknown masked men. According to reports, the driver who worked for Lafe Ade Transport Company, was murdered close to Police Check Point in the area. There is already tension in the state as men of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are now gunning for war, with the Aramoko-Igede Ekiti road now blocked.

This country is so dangerously insecure. Murder and homicide is no news. Death comes at a relatively cheap price. Looking back at the last 16 years, I strongly feel that the desperation of our political class has being the major cause of insecurity in this land. Political rivalry lead to politically motivated killings. Embezzlement lead to unemployment consequently to armed robbery, kidnapping, ritual killings and other desperations.

Our number one enemies are the mindless looters. 16 years of PDP rule brought all manner of vices alien to us. Kidnapping in the south east and south south, vandalization of oil installations. Boko haram in the north and armed robbery in the south west
