Scammers everywhere, ready to swindle u of ur last penny

Actually, it takes less than 5mins to get a new card or replace a lost card in some banks in Nigeria.

They sent similar message to me, before I could finish reading it my fingers DELETED it Immediately.

Got the same message and the person massaging me for the bank i use
told him that he should have all the info

The next day as expected, he called me (so a whole CBN customer care agent dey call me like this oh), i told him that my ATM card was ready(who doesn’t know that it will take like 2 weeks or more for your ATM card to be ready for collection in Nigeria).

The bolded ain't true though. At First Bank, u get ur atm card the very day u request for it.

Fools all of them. This is what they sent to me yesterday. I was in the middle of something very challenging and I didn't find it funny.

Funny enough, one idiot sent me a text yesterday and I gave him a run for his airtime.

are you sure only greedy people falls prey to this kind of text. There are lots of people in the village and even city that would still fall prey to this kind of scam, not because they are greedy. Some are not aware of such scam. All we need is to keep spreading the info

the catch is that they will also ask for the 3 digit number at the back. Its step by step, 3 digit number is also part of the steps

I was also a victim of this bvn scam but on anoda platform, this time the guy came with "DiamondBankAgent" as a customer care line

He sent me my bvn number and told me that am having issues with it, I asked him what will be d solution nd he said I should send him my ATM card numb, which I did.

Meanwhile am a core staff of Diamonbank nd I hv heard abt this scam previously, so I wasn't bothered. he sent me an 8 digits code with inscription "ITP CODE" and told me to send d numb for him.

I told him I got no airtime, and without wasting time I got an alert of recharge card #200, after a while he called and asked why I haven't send d numb yet, and I told him not to worry that I will go to d bank to see my acc officer, he was mute for while then he started shouting and ranting, I just cut d call immediately.

Meanwhile I hav deactivated my ATM with my mobile app during this time.

I got this around November....
And I sent it to my banks and to the telecommunications so that they will know also that the scammer is serious.

U wey give them ur card number, na u go still give them ur pin and the 3 digit number at the back of ur card with expiry date. Then watch how they will use ur card to shop online until they finish the money.

The numbers behind are not needed for online airtime purchase. So by giving him the numbers on your card, he can shop with it.

You did well!
I think its time to form a Nigerian version of Scam-baiters.
By keeping him busy, wasting his time an airtime, you reduced his ability to reach out to more gullible people.
Another issue is that it seems law enforcement in Nigeria is a bit behind.
With the SIM registration in place this should not be happening.
CBN, the Banks and the police should have created a number to forward such messages to, which is followed up, and scammers picked up.
You can not imagine the number of the vulnerable folks (less literate and poor) these guys would have wrecked. Such experiences can make such folks run away from the banking system, a move that it contrary to CBN and the Banks' goals.
Unfortunately I am very busy, when I was less busy, if you dare send me such scam mail, I will punish such scammer by subscribing such email to receive informational alerts that will keep the fella's email box hopefully so busy, he will have more work sifting to access the status of his "traps".

Dear Idiot due 2 ur brain downgrade, your ATM CARD has just been de-activated to re-activated, please call the bigger fool Mr Donald on: +2349039739211.


Note that my response was sent to ..........777 number while the first message was sent to me using the mobile number my response to the scammer

i dont have airtime for such.

i wish there is a way to collate all these scam mobile numbers, get the full names, pictures and address of there owners and get them on a front page in forums like NL, that i believe would deter these scammers.

lawyers in the house, does our laws support that idea as their activites are creating nusiance to the society?

Mind u OP, FCMB, First Bank give instant ATM card. Infact 5 minutes is too much. Don't know about other banks anyway.

Nice post, however got something wrong. Not trying to promote any bank but I know First Bank gives atm cards the same day you apply.
