it's a normal procedure to get checked, during d process of our residence.

We were 5 dat went together, I was the 3rd in line that was tested, we were asked to go and sit down. After about 45 mins they started calling our names to come collect our papers and move to the next stage. Mind u, if u r tested positive, na from dat place ur journey home begin.

I was scared cos of all my escapade. After about 5 pple were called I no hear my name, I started getting worried since I took d test as d 3rd person.

About 20pple were called, I no hear anything, I begin dey sweat inside AC. Started flashing back to who could av infected me, it was an unforgettable day. 3out of dose dat went with me already had dias.

I started thinking what becomes of me. The only thought that came to my mind is suicide cos I had disappointed so many people and won't be able to look into their faces.

Na the murdering of my name woke me up, wen 1 mumu juzz dey murder my name. As I collect am, I no even bother to check, I know say for them to give me, it means am safe. I juzz begin shout 'Una fada' 'Una fada' 'Una wan kill person?' dey no kukuma understand. Since dat day, I behave ooooo, I stopped to dey 'COOL off'.

I bought drinks for my guys without telling them the reason after I got the results. The lab scientist kept wasting time I thought he was garnering courage to give me the news. Chai...he kept walking up and down I almost wanted to ask him Oga Abeg just tell me make I comoy here. Lol...anyways I've become extra careful afterwards.

7 times. The first one,I was not afraid at all. The second one,I was sweating profusely in the lab. The third one,I was bold. The rest,I was fearless. Thank God,I did not fail the test at any time.

I wud never forget the first day I did the test. My late dad was being prepped for an operation, so he had to run some test. I was with him and my younger brother, wen we took him to the lab where the test wud be carried out. We got to the lab and met this very sexy looking nurse. I just dey codedly scope the nurse. The time for my dad to run the test came, which also included HIV test, and it happened to be the new quick style of getting the results(result come out in less than five minutes).

Since I wasn't the one there for the test, I was distant minded. Not knowing that while I was distant minded, they had run the test on my dad. Next tin I heard was the nurse saying, daddy let's u sons also do the test, it wouldn't take long. Only my younger wu latter told me, cud describe the look on my face. I had fear and contempt written on my face looking at the nurse. In a flash, I cud recall the many tyms I had dived without my condoms n wen d condom tore or slipped(d brain rili is a super machine)
Next tin I heard my dad say was, no problem. Then he called my name, the distance btw where the test wud b carried out and where I sat was less then 10feet. But, I can tell u it took me ages, dat my younger broda wu was behind me had to whisper in my ears n tell me "Egbon move na".

All the while I waited for the test result to be produced was the most nervous av ever bin, started sweating and shaking while trying to compose myself. The nurse finally told my dad his result(negative), and in his usual self he joke abt it wif the nurse(that one no even consign me). Next the nurse told my brother his(negative), in my mind I wished the floor wud open and swallow me, cos right abt there I wasn't expecting a good news. Then the nurse looked at me, and gave me this look that was like I had bin caught red handed stealing meat frm the pot. In my half dead state, I heard her mention my name, then she said am negative. I didn't knw wen I just stood up, went on my knees and shouted, tank u Jesus. The nurse and my broda just started laughing hysterically, while my dad looked at me scornfully.
I do my test regularly now, but that first test, I would never forget it.

I wasn't afraid to do it tho coz I knew it wud turn out negative as a gud girl wich I am



But when I got to d unit in d teaching hospital they were having a counseling session with those that came for ARV nd HIV positive piple.

I saw many handsome men, pretty ladies, pregnant women, evn old men
A cold chill immediately ran down my spine nd I bcame scared immediately, I almost felt like running away frm dere.

Wen d nurse called me to tell me Itz my turn, I was alredi visibly shaking for reasons I couldn't xplain.


For a moment, the doctors thought I was positive alredi coz of how scared I was.

They had to giv me a moment to pull myself together xo de will b able to draw blood out of my body.

Wen de finally ran d test, d silly Dr hesitated to giv me my result nd I almost started crying lol.

The thoughts dat ran tru my mind at d moment was dat, wot if I had contacted it tru needle, blades or evn from d hair saloon nd didnt knw all along


My thought was cut short wen the Dr gave me the result Witat telling me, in less than 2 seconds, my eyes located HIV - nd for d first time I smiled in the office, the Dr evn teased me

went to do it when i was preparing for my wedding, did it with hepathitis, genotype and bloodgroup.omo i entered the clinic confidently but at d point of waiting for the result i became gentle,started counting days of saloon needles in my head, friends blade and unprotected sex with my rugged ex, i almost collapsed on seeing the result i saw positive but thank God na my bloodgroup be O+ve not HIV

did mine last October during job pre medical test,wasn't sure of it,not that I sleep around,but you can get this virus just by shaving ur hair in one barber's shops,so I ran it again at another private lab,it wasn't funny though when waiting for the result,but all negatives,guy beware ooo


though there are other virus out there,the truth is be prayerful and careful and be watchful aslo.

You dont have HIV as long as you are healthy,The last time i fell sick was 1994

HIV can b contracted through several ways (e.g sharing of sharp objects, clippers, e.t.c wt an infected peep); only that it is mostly contracted thru sexual intercourse.
