Is the APC government for the people or against the people or perhaps against one certain region? This is cruel.

Igbo this igbo that. Are they the only tribe doing business or is it always in their blood to always complain and be over ambitious?
Even talking of being marginalised again by appointment. Always heve cause to rebel
What a tribe!

Everybody hates you right? Are you the only traders or is it only on igbo traders. It is a policy to encourage local production so as to reduce dependency on foreign product which will benefit a lot of people especially the Ibos who are into a lot of production in Aba.
Its just that you have been brainwashed. Anything being done this hate ibo that hate ibos. You better change your reasoning

This policy although it has come as a shock and taken traders by surprise, hopefully it would favour the manufacturers and producers in places like Aba and Nnewi etc. However it may be, man has to adjust and survive.

By the way, can anyone explain the complaint about clearing of goods in Kano?... what does that mean?

how can a govt place a ban on importation of products when the infrastructure to sustain local production isnt adequate.

The dullard should focus on improving power supply and other amenities dat can impact local production. As it stands now...Nigeria cant compete with China when it comes to lowering cost of production.

The masses will bear d brunt of his policies. You should be thanking Igbo traders for speaking up in a time when most pple consider buhari a god who cant go wrong.

You read everything in the OP and you think they have nothing to complain about? Isn't your hate for the Igbos becoming obvious?

The dollar restriction is affecting their business and you expect them not to complain, huh?

They import their goods into the country instead of clearing in Lagos they are asked to go all the way to Kano for it and you expect them not to complain.

Before you blame or castigate them, why not try putting yourself in their place.

Yeye.

At d bold. Same way there's a refinery in Kaduna. And his robots will start educating us why Kano is the best place to clear the goods grin

Btw Any persecution of traders is a persecution of the masses cos if they suffer finish to get the goods, na consumers go hear am.
And those mpkis above talking trash are one way or the other consumers. When the prices of goods skyrocket they'll still blame the Igbos for selling their wares costly. They had better get ready to start importing.

I think the threat one alhaji made in his phone conversation with one kunle about how they'll economically shut the Igbos down is what is beginning to play out.

We'll overcome.

Just like they earmarked N3.6billion to purchase foreign cars thereby encouraging the likes of Innoson motors to continue their business in the process, right?

I'm sure you can come up with excuses and reasons why they have to purchase the cars from outside the country. Oya bring it on. undecided undecided

Can you be truthful for one?

Which people are the highest numbers of importers? Be truthful for once.

Should the majority stakeholders in the importation business keep quiet in the face of harsh policies affecting business because of the minority in their midst, huh?

I can make a guess that the Igbos make up about 80% of importers, should they keep quiet because of 20% others are also being affected? Guy make you dey use your head.

Persecution complex!

If 8 people are affected by a government policy and just 1 of them is Igbo, then it is a deliberate agenda to persecute the Igbos.
The sun rises and sets only on their ass.

Igbos are not oriented to collectivism and fighting for what is good for the masses or for the nation; they fight only for what isgood for them individually

An Ogoni friend once told me that IGBO is I Go Before Others.

Very self centred in nature.

As long as one Igbo man is affected by a policy, it is wrong and done to persecute them. If no Igbo is affected, then a policy is great regardless of who else feels the heat.

It has always been the habit of Igbos to pull statistics out of their ass, so I doubt if that surprises anyone these days.

If Igbos constitute 80% of importers and other tribes are to take their own share of what Igbo false statisticians have left as remainder for them, then I reckon that the big industries who do the bulk of importation should make do with just 0.01% of importation?

Concerning the complaints being made by these importers, I welcome it if made from purely economic perpectives, but to inject the notion that the policy was designed and implemented just so that Igbos should cry is what I would not condone.

Nigeria has economic challenges, and the government of the day would do what it must to surmount those challenges it inherited without regard to tribal sympathies.

The government should not always have to stop to ponder on whether the ever crying Igbos would like a policy or not. Policy implementation always have positive and negative consequences, Igbos should learn to stop "tribalising" the demerits.

It's easy for you to churn out this crap because it doesn't accept you or your people directly but be rest assured it's gonna come back to bite your sorry butt.

If you were very observant on what I posted you'll see I said "guess" and I used that figure because a cousin of mine who worked at NPA said a great percentage of the importers are Igbos. So pls keep your Igbo hatred to yourself and let it eat you up.

Reason, what reason? Someone said this policy was taken to encourage local production. If that's the case don't you think certain things should have been put in place before implementing this policy?

Bubu earmarked N3.6billion to purchase foreign cars, how does this encourage local production when you have the likes of Innoson motors? I guess it's because he's an Igbo man.

You guys should be truthful irrespective of the Igbo hatred.
