Is it today?
But you have to top the league to win it; and that's exactly what we are doing. Man Utd or Chelsea would give anything to be in our position right now. It's important we appreciate it.

Wenger already admits Ozil needs rest. I think he will rest him vs Sunderland.

Monreal and Mertersacker still have at least 2years each to offer. Their replacements have not graduated from the academy.

Real won't sell Isco- he is Spanish Wilshere. James is too expensive, Kroos is a good guy but Wenger won't need him- he won't stunt Wilshere's development.

Chicharito just joined Bayer, he won't leave. I think the only possibility is Aubameyang. This is because at £42m he is a good buy and since Dortmund are not in the UCl, they would rather have him leave Germany than see him join Bayern in the summer.
I dont need academy replacement. I need someone from this window to make two of them to step up their games. They still have 6-10years of soccer to offer, but they gatz improve. Definitely no academy product to do that. Rene-Adelaid havent played a single game, how much more a new one from academy.

I know Wilshere needs all he needs to get back, but we can get kroos or isco. Well it may all be vague now cos Benitez just got sacked. The new coach will utilize them well.

The squad looks injury free by febuary ending. 90% of injured will return by then. But still yet, Ramsey needs competition. He's lucky he isnt playing besides Ronaldo or Zlatan that would voice out their frustrations on selfishness(even though both are guilty as well)

Going by the players in the academy now, I don't see any of them replacing Monreal (at LB) or Per (at CB) unless there's a big improvement over the next few months. The closest is Bielik who currently plays as CB for the youth team but is widely regarded as a DM. Even him I don't really rate tbh. But the thing is with these youngsters, because of their young age, things change quickly for them either positive or negative.

Our brightest prospects in the academy are the midfielders and forward players

Let's forget Wilshere for this season. The whole country wants him at France for the Euros and I know Arsene is doing his best to make sure Jack makes the Euros. I suspect even if Jack comes back fully fit tomorrow, we'll wrap him in cotton wool till summer.

We must understand that it is not the Arsenal way to buy without looking first at the academy players. Rather than go for established players, Wenger would sign players for into academy.

Bellerin ursurping Debuchy actually comes to mind at this point. Gibbs is developing too.

like i said earlier, THERE IS NO ACADEMY PRODUCT GOOD ENOUGH RIGHT NOW TO BENCH THESE PAIR OF DEFENDERS!

I know le prof's philosophy and i cant see him risking that. Not in this currently campaign. How can one risk inexperience straight up from the academy? If its an academy player that have gone on a loan spell coming back, no p. But fresh and straight into the team? No way. Coquelin should be the last to achieve that and he's gathered his time in 2yrs. Iwobi is enough for this my point. He is good, but Wenger cant RISK him to bench a starter. Same goes for Iheanacho@Man City, who gradually is getting more minutes.

Gibbs? grin jst like they say Nigeria is still developing since 1999?

Let Wenger try this and see the effect. We need this cos Barca isnt smiling@all. Good Wenger is doing this with Campbell and Oxlade. Watch Oxlade lose his spot gradually to Joel!! Wont be bad if he tries that with Per and Monreal which we all know are not permanent shirt owners.

Jst like saying Stones from Everton comes over, wont Per step up? Gracias

I agree with you. Like daveP said, the defenders are just not there at the moment.
When Bellerin was in the academy, you could see he had it in him to at least make it into the first team some day. Same with Gibbs, Szczesny, Wilshere, and the other players who have made it into the first team from the academy.

I am not totally ruling out any defender from our academy (I no be God so don't know tomorrow), I am only saying that based on recent performance, personally cannot recommend a defender from the academy to play in the first team. And considering we need a substitute for Per like right now, I envisage Arsene Wenger will have no choice but to look outside.

Remember the time when we could play our youth team in competitions like the league cup? Time when Djorou, Senderous, Gibbs, Hoyte, Miguel, were virtually starters for any league cup or even some FA Cup game? When we tried it this season against Sheffield United, did you see the result? The academy boys (defenders) ain't just ready. Forward players like Iwobi, Jeff, Crowley, Zelalem, Akpom, Maitland-Niles, can be eased in slowly into the first team but even at that, none of them is Wilshere/Gibbs/Szczesny quality.

My opinion

My opinion
Yes but I wasn't talking about immediate replacements, no.
I am talking about replacing them after they retire or leave which we expect to be in 2-3years time. Within which Wenger would have brought in academy products to try. Failure of which then he could look outside.

All I am saying is that Wenger tends to look more inwards for replacements than outside. Even when looking outside he prefers lesser known talents.

The last two years Wenger spent and won trophies. If you deduct the amount he spent on Ozil and Sanchez in that period (roughly £80M) you'll have roughly £250M and that amount won't make that list.

We have never felt the importance of our fourphy until recently when Man Utd and Chelsea began to DREAM of it.

Mourinho got sacked for it, LvG was threatened because of it.

They are ready to splash the cash this January just to claim our coveted FOURPHY.

The rumour mills have started rolling again with news of Arsenal's interest in Watford's Troy Deeny. What do you think?

Personally I feel that if Arsene wants a striker from Watford, then he may be looking at the wrong person. Again he is 27 meaning he is short term, why not save resources and go for Aubameyang.

My Garri o!

After news of Guadiola's interest in replacing Arsene Wenger as Arsenal's manager filtered through, Henry quickly let it open that he is learning how to be a manager from Arsene, earning his coaching badges at the Emirates. He didn't hesitate to point out that as a club legend with a statue outside the Emirates, he will also love to manage the club someday.
