the two are not quite the same. death ins is a kind of life assurance. there are other kinds such as endownment assurance,etc. death assurnce is d same wt whole life in that d benefits are paid to d deceased family or next of kin only on death of d life assured.

l gave u d meaning of d two. death ins is a type of life assurce. life assurce is an ins policy that covers d life assured aginst death either for d life assured's life span or for a certain period.
