Social media has exposed so much the intellectual poverty of most Nigerian youths. I think Nairalanders are commentators without the subject matters.

Instead of MTN to humbly pay up their fine, they instead decided to take the NCC to court without considering the possibility of something like this. Hehe grin now EFCC don dey open dia record; expect more from EFCC vs MTN.

This EFCC movie too sweet abeg grin
MTN are nothing but thieves and I pray they fold up cos I hate them since inception, imagine I subscribed BB monthly subscription and 3hrs later I received a message that my subscription has expired. I called them but all they told me is we are sorry for the inconvenience that might have cost you that they will reactivate it for me. Since that time they don't pick my call again only if I used another MTN line and still same story.

As in eh!

EFCC and ICPC needs to probe all the parastatals and agencies. Even more importantly, we need to setup an accountability commission directly under the presidency that reports directly to the president.

Because, as e be, all this nonsense never end, Fayemi budget N800m to renovate website. So even the leakages never block finish...

I can still remember quit vividly when this same MTN sold sim cards not worth #100 to Nigerians for over #30k, and then they felt Nigerians were gullible and too naive to understand the technicalities of mobile technology. Today is their turn to pay back all the billions they ripped from us. #etigloandairtel tí take over
Not just MTN every network then did ..infact econet started the trend then..i am sure u even got ur sim for free

If my neighbour instead of paying fair price for a government land choose to pay some corrupt government official fraction of the price and asked me to do same... I think the government should not just withdraw my neighbours land but it should blacklist myself and my neighbour from buying any of its land...
brunofarad:
If u plan buying land at a govt estate
Then u discovered that ur neighbour bought. land in same estate sometime ago...but due to some reasons the govt revoked his ownership of the land without refund,,
My brother will you in all honesty buy same land at same estate ? grin

It is same with the dynamics of investment happening now in nigeria

A man returned from work at night and heads straight to the bedroom to make love to his wife.
When done, he went straight to the kitchen to fetch himself a bottle of cold drink only to find his wife there looking for something in the fridge. He asked his wife how she quickly made it to the kitchen when they've just finished making love.
His wife screamed: "Aahh! That was my mother in the bedroom, she was so tired when she arrived so I let her sleep in our room". Alarmed, she ran to her mother and asked her why she didn't say anything when her husband was making love to her. Mother replied: "you know say me and your husband no dey talk".

Why is federal government taking it so hard on MTN. Naija want foreign investors and u dey treat MTN like this. which other network provider can boast of the number of staff MTN parade. MTN has done well for this country. Were on earth do expect MTN to pay such amount of money within a little time frame. Mtn sales for a whole year no fit pay that fine. FG should reconsider their stand on this issues and think of a way forward. "MTN.... Everywhere u go

I have read many comments on this forum about how the present brouhaha between Federal Government and MTN will dissuade other investors from investing in Nigeria. I stand to say with all modesty that most of these guys making such comments are ignorant of how businesses and corporations are run in developed countries of the world.
What some companies do in Nigeria, they dare not do them in a well regulated countries where there are laws and regulations, codes etc. Nigeria is lawless and no wonder an operator operates with so much impunity. What MTN did in Nigeria, if it were to be America, or Europe, their license would have been revoked and very heavy charge smashed on them. Please let us learn to do things right, we can't continue to be of a 'country-of-anything-goes'.
Thank you for this comment!

It amazes me how some people think. In the USA, companies will get fines for misrepresenting their product not to talk of involving in fraudulent deals. I know everybody still remember the case of BP oil spillage few years back. They were fined $18.7 billion for environmental damages. And I know more lawsuits might still be in the making. Some companies had to settle out of court recently for not paying their specialist overtime pay.

Thank you!

In fact, nairaland posts has shown that majority of Nigerians are intellectually deficient. They can't reason logically and replace sound judgement with emotional sentiments.

It is a shame.
