EFCC over reacting, why brandish the entire bank criminals, without completing the investigation, and competent court convicting those involved. do this people know how negatively this will affect the banks stock on the stock exchange, and also peoples savings in that bank and the entire Nigerian economy.

They don't know ......zeal without knowledge is bad.

But wait a second if money was laundered is it the bank's fault? I mean there are laid down processes that the bank must have followed before paying any cheque issued by the government, confirmations must have been done and the cheque must have been signed by the accountant general or who ever is in charge of that before payment.
It's only in cases where policies were not followed that the bank will become liable.
On the other hand if they are talking about funds brought into the bank by the money launderers as their personal money .....well i must say that the bank must have provided policies that encourages due diligence in situations as this (as is the case with many other banks too ).......if that be the case, what we will now be looking at is which member of staff went ahead to flaunt the bank policy with out recourse to the consequences of his/her actions. ..it could either be the account manager or maybe the branch manager or whoever....
I think they sealed the building and not the bank.

Yes, of course. Just what we need: another bank in Abuja. Do people know how many banks are on that block of road alone?

If it is established the Bank has been a Conduit for looting, then.

(A)Their Licence should be revoked by the CBN.

(B)Those at the helm of Affairs of the Bank should be made to face the full ATTENTION of the Law.

(C) Restitution paid back to the People Of Nigeria Via the Government.

(D)The Bank should be NATIONALIZED.

I am starting to be really impressed by this new EFCC.

The message is starting to get out now, that this is not business as usual. The banking sector is about 70% sanitized now, and hopefully before the end of the 8 Years of Buhari, the Banks should be fully cleaned up.

The banks can spend all the monies they want on Paid Ghost Criers/Propaganda Cries on the pages of the Newspapers, on how Buharis Government is killing Business and the Banks in Nigeria, but we the PEOPLE of Nigeria are not fooled.

Nice one the EFCC.

May it be well with you.

I doubt your theory. The reason might not be unconnected to the owner of the property. Perhaps one of the big fishes who patook in the bazaar owns the building and it is being rented by the Bank or leased to it.
if that's d case then EFCC has no right to seal the bank....The reason for sealing the building is connected to the bank's criminal activities...Thumbs up to EFCC

Re: EFCC Seals Mega Building At Wuse 2, Abuja (pictures) by 2n2k(m): 8:44am On Jan 17, 2016
The action of EFCC is targeted at the landlord not the tenants. The tenants including GTB can and will still continue to transact their businesses.

It is a sort of Caveat Emptor to prevent the suspect (landlord) from clandestinely dispose off the property to unsuspecting buyers when he knows he is under investigation.

In 2005, EFCC put a notice like this on Russell Centre in Abuja (now Febson Mall) while investigating that huge Brazil 419 case, but tenants continued their their businesses. The same happened to the property housing the FCMB at Gimbiya street in Abuja during the PTDF fraud investigations in 2007. The bank's operations were not disrupted on account of that.

I see over zealousness on the part of EFCC. They go about arresting without investigation. And since they have not got evidence, they start playing games with charging to court. Like some people asked, why deface the fine buildings? Why not use ribbons. People need to start suing them for compensation so they can stop being barbaric.

It's clear there a lot of ignorant Nigerians, smh. Its no business of any bank if the customers loot money and is stashed in their banks, hence efcc cannot prosecute the banks for wrong doing. Have you seen anybody prosecute swiss banks over loots laundered or stashed by criminals in power?

Let them write anywhere, I saw the inscription last week, took a picture myself, then- I tried to remember the owner of the land - I can remember the asking price was N5b and I was told in confidence they wanted to sell it for N2b, if I can remember well shocked - you know everyone in abuja is a land speculator grin for those that steal* it's just surprising GTB would get itself in this mix lipsrsealed it would have made sense, if they were strictly implicated as a warehouse, any other thing would be pathetic

Come on, in law that isn't the case. Imagine you buying a stolen car (without knowing the car was stolen) and then the car was identified to have been stolen- the authorities have every right to confiscate the car.

In law, ignorance is no defense.

What is this one saying? License should be revoked?

I am pro apc and pro fight against corruption, however, EFCC is beginning to overstep their bounds. And honestly, this singuar act shows they are not as financially smart as we thought them to be. For pete's sake, banking of today has gone online and sealing off a branch has zero effect on your investigation.

Inviting Dasuki's account manager in the bank for investigation would have been a more appropriate step.
