I find it absolutely shameful that people are so partisan to their DNA. They could sell their mothers just to stand right with their idiosyncrasies. This country is greater than any party, the development of the country should surpass any desire by each party faithful to be supreme.

Any right thinking patriotic Nigerian knows corruption is a major issue hampering our development. Even with a clueless government Nigerian will still perform averagely if corruption was stamped out. This should be the main worry of a Nigerian. Thank God we now have a government which is hell bent on chasing, humiliating corrupt elements. Yet people are grumbling. Accusing the President of selective vendetta as though common sense has become extinct.

Please I apc should double more efforts to chase down every pdp member from past governments and collect our yams, such retrieved yams should make up 40% of out missing yams.

Please in 2019, other opposition parties should rise and challenge at national level because the Nigerian electorate has a more genuine love to opposition than the incumbent.

Please whichever opposition than wins in 2019 should chase and harass all apc member from past government to collect our stolen yams, such retrieved yams in combination of that gotten from the pdp should amount to 80% of our missing yams.

Enough of this accusation that the corruption fight should be a cross board, nobody fights his family members, that job should be left for perceived enemies which in this case is the opposition in Nigerian political sphere.

Why are we the populace who didn't gain a kobo from their kleptomania complain of selective blah blah blah, we keep talking of rule of law yet we forget our judicial system is poo (this doesn't imply we forgo the law). Apc is simply sowing a seed they will reap it's fruit in kind one day. Rather as good Nigerian we should support them because we see the big picture and not their crude methods.

Nigeria must rise, corruption must be killed, I advocate the death penalty, I advocate death by stoning, I advocate any measure that can curb out corruption wherever it may exist. Today it's the turn of the pdp, let them burn, let them produce our yams, it shall be in similar vein that the apc shall burn one day and produce our yams. I shall support all such efforts till the tyranny of corruption and lawlessness is wiped out of my country.

We have no other country, imagine if there was a refugee situation in Nigeria, with our current global image as theives, rapists and law breakers. Who will accept us or give us laxity. Just as is being offered to terrorism inclined arabs.

Nigeria must better, no matter whose ox is gored.

Support for the President does not equate to patriotism

That's fascism and tyrany. Go check history of tyrants. This is how they start!

Buhari is not God and we will not worship him!

your love for your country should surpass your hatred or love for a government, every government shall pass but country remains, the moves being made is for the good of the country. It's not a matter of love for the police but love for the law he is upholding. Pdp must burn, be disgraced and humbled to return stolen funds, once we have done that, I start awaiting the apc to be burned, disgraced and humbled till they return stolen funds. The opposition shall always be a police. Every term will be judged by the next power player. It's for the good of our country

No one hates ur President, we just know he does not have the skills nor temperament to succeed

Yaradua did not face this kind of opposition

Buhari has not conducted himself like a statesman since being President. It was he who made the 5% statement, it was he who said openly that he will disobey court orders, it was him who justifies and upholds the innocence of APC crooks until proven guilty by the courts and even appoints them ministers but oversees an EFCC that convicts PDP members without letting them have their day in court. It is Buhari who offers round table negotiation to Boko Haram but arresting ipob and mend.

This president will fail and I make no apologies for saying it

You can not elect a lunatic as the President and turn around to bully everyone to pray for him

Buhari is not God and we will not worship him

Call me unpatriotic and I call you FASCIST!!!!

The ability to accept criticism makes you an ideal person. Insulting a government especially in power is totally unacceptable. But shunning the public from criticising a government is totally appalling. We still have a lot to learn both the government and the governs

can you show me any democracy where there is a malicious attack always by the opposition. the idiocy in the current government towards accusing the past administration of every ill forgetting they are almost a year in office is the same as always attacking the administration with statements like " why isn't the corruption battle across board" well i tell you , it is not written anywhere that it must be across board. nobody stopped the past administration from doing same and nobody will stop the next administration from doing same to the APC. its simply a check and balance. positive criticism should be the norm and not partisan criticism. it helps no one

You are insincere. If last government succeeded in killing off all the opposition who will be available to challenge them in elections when it comes.

Tell yourself the truth. If you are not corrupt yourself, you can take on corrupt people from both your party and opposition.
But what do we have today. Opposition leaders are declared looters on national TV by the President himself but his party members are not corrupt and can be ministers until proven so by courts.

listen dear you are still analysing issues from a partisan perspective. As a Nigerian who has no partisan stake, I don't care how the fight is done, except that it is done. And it goes beyond reach of what the executive can do. As far as I am concerned the corruption must be dealt with in whichever party it exists, every dog has its day, if Jonathan had done this, apc would still have won the elections and hopefully we would have a cleaner apc than the rogues present today, buhari is cleaning up the pdp, hopefully when he is through and they wrestle out power come 2019, they can do same to the apc. The fact is that as a Nigerian corruption is our worry, it's the sole reason we aren't progressing, not necessarily party affiliation or the ruling party membership

Well said. There must be criticism, but how constructive is it. Go through threads on this forum and you will see people whose criticism are biased and jaundiced, every issue must be treated with partisan gloves with them. They refuse to face the issues. Jonathan was judged by his fruits and we voted him out, let's allow the fruits of this government judge them. While we remember and retain our rights to vote them out if found wanting. That's where the power of the electorate lies and not in unconstructive criticisms filled with bias and hate

he criticised Jonathan, and Nigerians proved their anger by voting him out. Same will be applied to buhari or apc if found wanting. Our strength lies in our choices and not our criticisms. Corruption must die. It has to. We are suffering for it. For our children sake. Corruption is colossal. If this is the pdp's turn for the purge. Let it be so . The apc will have their day with us soon.

No you are very very wrong and there is nothing non partisan about your propositions.
If Jonathan had humiliated, arraigned and tried APC leaders in both media and courts. Nigerians being who they are will call him the Messiah for "fighting corruption" and we know that many APC leaders would have defected to PDP and few remaining ones will keep quiet. Now tell me how they are going to win elections that way when everyone now associate APC with looting and few remaining ones are weak. Killing off opposition is more dangerous than corruption itself
And you should also know that it is not only corruption that is stalling Nigeria. Even with relatively small corruption in US government, they still faced recession. Today Nigerians are jubilating about media trials that have not resulted in single conviction nor have added kobo to our economy while our economy is in tatters.

I support corruption fight but every Nigerian would have supported it if it had cut across party, ethnic and religious lines and hence more successful.

Even though I don't like Buhari so much, at some point during the campaign, I consoled myself that if he wins, being as fearless as we have been made to believe, he will go after ALL corrupt persons from everywhere. What did we get? He started by saying his probes will start from the last 5 years. That's when I realized we are still back to square one.

you raise a point that our problem isn't just corruption, let me agree with you while highlighting another problem. BAD LEADERS, RECYCLED LEADERS. These two are also problems, let them all be jailed. Me and you will rise up in opposition. The world will continue and there will be opposition even if all pdp members are jailed, others will rise up In their place. Albeit better men. Better leaders. So no fears. The corruption campaign if it ends up destroying the pdp let it be. Nigeria is the most important entity and not any party. Do you really think the apc have the structure to monopolise the government for 16 years? Not at all dear. That period in Nigerian politics is long gone, we will always have a dynamic political sphere from now on. Thus a time of accountability. Please go and read up the current situation in south American politics, the current administration would focus on its immediate past. And nothing further because it was the job of Jonathan to probe obasanjo, he didn't simply cos it's the same party. Why the interest in Jonathan 's government, why the protection. As a Nigerian, you interest should be that whoever is found corrupt should be brought to justice no matter his affiliations. We should await a clear case of double standard before crying foul. Today the ruling apc is washing the pdp, hopefully it shall be clean enough to win our votes come the next election. And we shall wash the apc. We need a clean government dear. Not being bothered on who is washing the other first. Simple

This mindset of yours is the reason why Nigeria and indeed black Africa is not moving forward. If Nigeria wants to be great, it pays to be pragmatic. Nigeria should look at what other great countries did and are still doing to be great. For one thing, Nigeria is running the wrong system of Government that is stifling the people. We claim to be a country but we are not. While corruption is a major issue for Nigeria and should be stamped out, it is not Buharis job to fight corruption. It is Buharis job to strengthen the institutions that ensure accountability. If a person has looted the funds, let the person be charged to court and Buhari should keep his nose out of the judicial system. I actually expected Buhari to set up anti-corruption courts by now and introduce new laws to strengthen EFCC and ICPC. Instead, what we have seen is the hounding of mostly people who have an axe to grind with the president and a president who came on national tv to tell the world he has no regard for the rule of law. We do not have a people's oriented constitution, we do not operate the right system of Goverment, we do not have checks and balances,we don't have national cohesion, we don't even have a comprehensive economic policy. What we have is a highly divisive president who has shown that he doesn't know what he is doing. If we want a better Nigeria, we must return to the regional system of government let the people manage their affairs. It is not for Buhari to manage my affairs for me, his role should be purely supervisory. As long as Nigeria keeps operating this unitary for of Government that makes Buhari and Abuja all powerful, Nigeria is headed nowhere no matter how many people Buhari locks up.

We do not have a people's oriented constitution, we do not operate the right system of Goverment, we do not have checks and balances,we don't have national cohesion, we don't even have a comprehensive economic policy. the notion of regional government is laudable but the powers that be have refused such seeing the limelight. That being said, corruption is a behemoth, it must start from somewhere no matter how crude the methods. Oga all the points you highlighted which you suggested the President does. If he had done that you people would still find fault in it. That's my issues with everything. The fault finding. The issue of wrong government is another issue entirely.
