They rather tax you more, as a matter of fact, they have already started taxing us more by imposing #50 stamp duty on monies paid into our account, they are bringing back toll gates, they increased electricity tarrifs even as we wallow in darkness, etc. Nigerian government (especially this APC one) knows nothing other than tax, tax and more tax..

And the almighty Ebola was fought in the administration of the supposed "clueless" one.

Don't mind the ode buruku, elede nla. See how he has already resorted to tribal bashing and then tell me what's so professional about these APC supporters. Even if they travel far and wide, study all the courses in the world and just about declare their support for APC, their brains will be rewired to fall to the standards of an "attack dog".

I'm an Engineering graduate but can't stoop as low as this supposed doctor did. I have a doctor for an elder bro and he can't fall his balls like that guy did.

If his likes were the only doctors available in Nigeria, I'd rather do the traditional drugs (even tho I hate the trad stuffs with passion).

Plus....Ebola is not native to Nigeria.

Additionally....the first patient was isolated in a good hospital. Had he ended up in a ''General Hospital'' in say Ajegunle......

Ebola was spread also by patients absconding from care.

I know its Only God that saved us. I thanked God when ebola entered Nigeria through Lagos because I know Lag has better medical facilities compared to other states(Northern states). I imange what could have happened if Ebola entered through the North.

Lassa started from the North and now it spreading like fire across the country.

Ebola was contained by the Federal Government jointly with some states like Rivers and Lagos.

Let the Federal Government contain lassa, that's all we ask for.

Doctors are not magicians, if there is not structure on ground, what do u want them to do.... Ebola was an imported epidemic which was lucky to have come through Lagos which had a health system in place that worked in terms of manpower, surveillance and other favourable factors... LF is a different kettle of fish.. it is primarily endemic and concentrated in the north where there is a lot of illiteracy and health non-awareness.. I think the minister is doing just fine. BTW I worked as a volunteer during ebola and I am working closely with Lagos state on LF too so I know what I am saying..
If ebola had not come in thru lagos, and doctors were not on strike, the story may have been different because the health system is weak.. the health system comprises of all components that make health work. Maybe u may like to visit the W.H.O page and look at the 6 building blocks of the health system and rate Nigeria... there has been a systemic rot in the health system over the years.. definitely over the past decade.. it's not something that can be remedied over 6 months..wish I cud give you some practical examples but can't do that without compromising my identity...
Anyway I do hope you are better informed...

We can't compare lassa fever case to Ebola even if both are hemorrhagic disease. lassa fever can occur anywhr in d country becos d causative animal is found in most homes. Ebola is not a native to Nigeria, just came coincidentally & was found out by a good doc on time. I blame Nigeria leaders, lassa fever is a common thing in Nigeria dat occur almost every year. By now facilities should have been in place and people well informed abt dis disease d way people av knowledge of malaria which is predominant in Africa

UK, Eire, France, Germany, Australia, South Africa, India and most commonwealth countries have one.

Surgeon-General is NOT minister of health, please don't mislead people. It's equivalent to Chief Medical Officer in UK. There is Chief Nursing Officer too.
I have even met both Liam & Sally, previous & Current CMOs.

You have obviously misunderstood me.. there is nowhere I said minister of health equals surgeon general... Nigeria's health system is quite like no other... I was just trying to infer from my post that the head of any medical team is always the doctor (M.D) however you want to look at it...

Particularly in the Nigerian context, it is imperative that a doctor heads the health system.. allied health workers should remain just that...allied!

And just curious, the chief medical officers you met, were they doctors or allied health workers... I have had a brief stint with UK NHS, pls humor me and tell me they were allied health workers...

If u ask me I will tell u that this diseases may exist, but may not spread as being advertised everywhere. This is the hand work of dubious men in collaboration with some medical doctors in West Africa countries ex specially Nigeria in enrich themselves. During GEJ tenure, they acted film called Ebola. Now in this now govt; the same set of people has staged another drama to loot. "na today wey rat dey jump enter our foods and we eat and nothing happens" Maybe, in two years to come they might come up with this, lassa Ebola fever spread believe me.

every state in the north has a federal hospital but how well equiped are they with infrastructure, with manpower, in terms of capacity building and health promotion..also how informed and health aware are the populace which the hospital serves.. I wouldn't even serve in the north even when I was offered almost 200k and free accomodation so many many years ago, most health care workers are concentrated in Lagos... studies and research has shown that.. so it's not about the hospital being federal.. it's about the capability of the hospital and the infrastructure and health care workers on ground

How many fed hospitals in the south is better than ABUTH? And who told you federal hospitals in the north lack manpower and infrastructure? Have you gone there? You are not exposed. Smh
