Those are DAMEN patrol vessels also and they are not NN. @Henry240 said they are indeed complemented by NN sailors

Our Navy operates several vessels of Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Which include 1 DAMEN 8313 class OPV and 3 Stan patrol vessel 4708 vessels

Nope, this isn't an NNS Burutu class MPV. This is a Damen MPV built in the Netherlands. NNS Burutu is built by a company in Singapore, we were supposed to build 5 of them in Nigeria, but i'm not sure if that contract was executed.

This vessel isn't the vessel the Nigerian Navy is currently building, that vessel still remains unidentified.

The Navy is only going to arm them and provide the sailors, but the maintenance would be done by the company that purchased it. It more like a partnership.

Explosions hit beach restaurant in Somalia's Mogadishu, this is an ongoing terror attack right now

Al-Shabab gunmen have attacked a seafront restaurant in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, a spokesman of the government confirmed to Al Jazeera.

Two explosions followed by gunfire hit the restaurant at Lido beach on Thursday evening, witnesses said.

The Lido beach area is home to several restaurants, which are usually full on Thursday nights - the start of the weekend in Somalia.

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack in a phone call to Al Jazeera. The spokesman said the attack was ongoing.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Possible Light Vehicle Patrol Options for African miliatries

- Proforce Special Combat Vehicle

- Gurza 2 (Azerbaijian )

*Both vehicles provide protection against 7.62mm

* The Gurza 2 has 3 gun pots, the Proforce Vehicle has 2

* the Gurza 2 doesn't provide a lot of storage space, the Proforce Vehicle has ample storage space

* Both vehicles are based on the Toyota Hilux

* The gunner in the proforce vehicle is well protected, the Gurza 2's gunner is exposed.

- They are pretty decent vehicles for Recon, Light attack, Special missions, and Border Patrol if you ask me.

4 Actually, a couple are in UN colours.

Nigerian Policy makers did not react quickly to changing events. However, most of the Helos would come in Desert and Jungle cammo excerpt if policy makers decide to go for grey.

Don't mind the UN colours, they pay quite a bit of money for the use of our Helos in any-case!!

Obviously having a single paint scheme won't enhance any of the abilities of the Air force, BUT it does look nice though tongue especially if you have a fleet making a mass fly by.

Egbon quick question, these russian and Belarusian trained soldiers, why don't they keep their trophy camouflage at home.
I agree it's badass, but are we not trying to attain a standard in that area?

its human we have to be pissed ,we have to ask why, how, when e.t.c i know armies get hit just like the russians Chechenya .i wanted revenge, retribution, pay back e.t.c what even pissed me more was the talk "lets go home "or "lets not respond too severe.if president bush didn't respond the way he did ,he wouldn't have being a second term president
Kikuyu1 is right. No amount of shiny equipment would have prevented that attack, although if the KDF troops deployed had access to hand-launched surveillance drones outcomes would have been different, as a better tactical awareness of the battle-space and invading force would have been known. KDF Puma MRAPs completely burnt out and they were only armed with 7.62s.

Again forget about what some doctrine as regards firepower says, it is the guys with the big guns who would eventually win the fight. Nigerian forces deployed in the N.E learnt this the hard way, now, we deploy 12.7mm's on pickup trucks, while armoured vehicles carry 23mm's.

We can only achieve peace through lead.
