To your second question, most times all I hear is a soft voice in my spirit man and it comes almost everytime with a bible verse, the Holy Spirit will never tell you what is not in tandem with the bible, that differentiates it with the voice of the devil besides, His words always come with an unexplainable peace in your heart. I have only heard the audible voice of God once, it was a recitation of verses in the bible that answered a question in my life at that time (I read the verse for the first time weeks later) it is at a conversational level, like two people gisting but it was very audible.

I recommend Kenneth Haggins book (How to be Led by the Holy Spirit).

sweet heart there is nothing wrong with the laying of hands on believers. the bible says in 1st Tim that Paul told timothy to be mindful of the spiritual gifts that were deposited in him through THE LAYING OF HANDS BY THE elders. what one has to be MINDFUL of is WHO IS DOING THE LAYING OF HANDS. As a child of a Living God we have the Holy Spirit in us occupying our soul, spirit, mind and body, hence no matter how a devil pastor try it wont work, its either he see the light in you and restrain OR he tried and nothing work. the worst can be you physically knowing that their is a clash but will not affect you.

I also lean towards this. I think transference of spirits takes more than laying on of hands. You don't want somebody laying hands on you and all the while you are wondering whether you will receive a gift of God or demons. I mean we should guard against paranoia.

I read Brown's books, saw Devils everywhere before I sobered up thankfully. I have also witnessed this in others, so you can say I speak from personal as well as empirical experiences.

If you had read scriptures, there was caution over laying on of hands long before Brown happened upon this earth

22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.

I wish to recommend this LEAST known book by Kenneth Hagin penned towards the end of his life

In it, he decried the excesses of prosperity gospel, something he readily admits he was guilty of. Check your church's bookshop and you can bet you won't find it yet you have all of Hagin's . Looks like few love correction.

Back to the subject.
There is such a thing as abuse of spiritual gifts, and I think among others we should look at how even the noble most gift can and has been abused.

I can think of a few;
1. DEPENDANCE
The one operating in a particular gift ends up cherishing and enjoying being called on every so often. They would deliberately avoid training others independence.

2. CHARGING
I'm sure we all know somebody or we ourselves have had to part with some money to receive a prophecy or dream interpretation. They may call it prophet's gift bla bla but the point is clear; without cash you get nothing. I know one right here in NL who gives general prophecies but charges US $100 for 'specific prophecies'

3. HAUGHTINESS
Let's be honest, operation of some gifts can dazzle. This can easily get to the head of the one operating in it that they forget they are gifts of grace, unearned and meant to benefit others. We must have noted how some Gifted are exceptionally honored. Paul says only elders are worthy of double honor- 1 Tim 5:17 This means congregation leaders/pastors and not the peculiarly gifted

4. FAKING
One may for instance go beyond the manifestation and fake it. Could be a fake prophecy, word of Knowledge,tongues and so forth. I have never understood the pressure to impress with a gift. So you once stood and the power of God was so strong that half the church was slain? Next time it don't happen you start pushing guys. One minister once said that when the congregation pressure the pastor for a 'word', he sure will manufacture one. Recall Aaron pressured to make a God for the Israelites?

5. NEGLECTING THE CHRISTIAN WALK
This may be closely related with #3. Just because you have a special and rare gifting, you tend to ignore everything else. One gifted with healing may neglect prayer and scripture devotion. It is so easy to mistake the gifts for spiritual maturity. We all need to know that gifts or no gifting, we are work in progress


6. CONTROLLING & DOMINEERING OTHERS
Most believers will honor the gift in the gifted. The Gifted are easily tempted to turn this honor into some license for dominating others and subjecting others to their whims

I don't allow anyone to lay hands on me unless and until I am absolutely sure of his/her spiritual standing.

If evil communication corrupt good manners and bible admonishes us to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, how is it not logical not to allow someone under demonic anointing to lay hands over your head?

The teaching that because you are a child of the light, you can't be harmed even when you behave recklessly is the same with those who claimed a believer can't be oppressed or obessed by demons. If you believe a born again Christian with the Spirit of God can be oppressed and obsessed with demons, a wrong hand on your head can and will get you obsessed or oppressed of the devil.

I didn't disagree with the fact that Rebecca's works are questionable but rather with ur assertion that it makes true believers who ardently follow her teaching paranoid. That was the basis of my grouse with you.

Pete's sake, Rebecca's books spells fear for the reader and because the spirit of God doesn't teach fear nor give us fear then we know such tales that invoke that should be questioned and disregarded.

To this end I hope my stance is clear. No its not my place to judge the woman in question cos we never know but to judge anyone or their works.

Am curious really. if you are not a Christian, on what grounds are you then standing to say Astral Projection is independent of religion?
No matter how much you think you know the Bible sir, you don't know it, because without the Holy Spirit inside of you to help you, the Bible will just be, "Things Fall Apart", A literary text to you. The Word of God is spirit. And yes, there are spirits, but not all spirits give revelational truths.

For all I know, Astral projection is not Holy Spirit induced. In the Bible, anytime the Holy Spirit takes a man out of the body, is to show or give him a revelation of the things to come, or what to do, for the benefit of the kingdom and for others, and you whom the Holy Spirit uses, do nothing, like yoga, chakra(am not sure of the spelling) no meditation, or taking a special seating or lying position.

Thank you for your post, you raised valid points, I don't subscribe to any religion. I practice Tantra which is an Art, a Science and a Spiritual path, it is a positive way of life.

I have said Astral Projection is independent of religion on the grounds that it can be practised by anyone, regardless whether you are Christian, Muslim, Mormon or Atheist, you have the ability to do Astral Projection. It is not a special preserve of a particular faith. It is the subjective interpretation of Astral Projection by latter day Christianity that is wrong.

I make no claims to know the Bible better than anyone else. But I do know that the Bible regales us with stories of those who ascended heavens to attend divine councils, e.t.c, consider the ascension of the Prophet Elijah borne aloft on his “Merkavah” and the visions of Ezekiel, The “Divine Chariot” is in fact the means of Astral Projection.

The references to Astral Projection persists in early Jewish writings, for instance the Babylonian Talmud tells the story of the Rabbi Elisha ben Abuyah also known as "Aher" (the other, who destroyed the plants of the heavenly garden) in the company of three other Rabbi’s ascended the orchard (heaven) and upon seeing the archangel Metatron seated recording the deeds of Men queried if there was now a duality in heaven.

My point is, the practice of astral projection was common place in first and second century Jewish practice in fact it was so common that the Apostle Paul remarked….”He knew a man who once ascended heaven….” contemporary Jewish religious leaders were very concerned, at the often conflicting accounts and reports of heavenly ascension in “spirit” they frowned very heavily on the practice and sought to discourage it, this is why you have the author of John, the most esoteric of all the gospel writers proclaim in John 3v13 “no man has ascended heaven.” It was a bid to stamp out the practice.

Like most things, some will find a good use for it, others of a more devious motivation will find other uses for it

The heroic witness and martyrdom of Ivan "Vanya" Moiseyev

Ivan Moiseyev (1952-1972), known to friends and family as Vanya, was a brave soldier in the Soviet Army, but he was braver still in his witness to JESUS CHRIST . He was tortured for his faith and died as a Christian martyr in 1972 at the age of 20.

What fueled his faith and courage in witnessing for CHRIST ? His parents had raised him and his six brothers and one sister in a Christian home. They were from Moldavia, which was part of the Soviet Union at that time, and they belonged to an underground Christian church, because religion was outlawed by the Communist government.

When Vanya completed school in 1968 at the age of 16, he decided to personally commit his life to Jesus Christ and to read the Bible daily. He joined the Evangelical Christian Baptist (ECB) Church in Slabodeyska and was baptized in 1970. After his baptism he had an intense desire to tell others about the good news of JESUS CHRIST and the gift of new life and forgiveness of sins which he won on the cross. He preached the Gospel with great enthusiasm and joy, both in his local church and to many young people of the town where he worked as a delivery driver.

In November 1970 he was drafted into the Soviet Army to perform two years of required military training and service. When Vanya began to speak openly of GOD in the army, his military supervisors began a systematic campaign of intimidation and torture to silence him.

In one of his letters to his parents Vanya wrote:

Even though I am a soldier, I work for the Lord, though there are difficulties and testings. Jesus Christ gave the order to proclaim his word in this city, in any meeting, in a military unit, to officers and soldiers. I have been in a division headquarters and in a special section. Though it was not easy, the Lord worked so that it turned out well there. I had an opportunity to proclaim his word to the most senior personnel. But I was reviled and thrown out of the meeting.
On one occasion the sergeant in his barracks challenged him to prove that God exists. The test was that God would miraculously arrange a military home leave for a certain sergeant. Leaves were hard to get. After asking God if he should accept the challenge, Vanya agreed. All night, he sat up with the sergeant explaining the things that he would need to know when he became a Christian. The next day, an authority from another town called and ordered the leave. The sergeant became a Christian and so did other men.
Shortly after this incident, Vanya wrote again to his parents about his determination to speak about Christ to his commanders and fellow soldiers alike.

They [his officers] have forbidden me to preach Jesus, and I am going through tortures and testings, but I told them that I will not stop bearing the news of Jesus. And the Lord shamed them before the entire unit, when they were torturing me. A soldier stood up who had miraculously gone on leave and had told everyone, and he asked, “Whose power was this?” The authorities did not wish to let me go, but they were put to shame.
On his last leave home, Vanya made a recording of the ordeals and cruelties used against him in the army. At times he was starved when his officers forbade him to eat for many days. He was awakened and interrogated night after night, and often struck.
Once, after a discussion about God, Vanya was made to stand in the street throughout the whole night wearing his summer uniform. The temperature at that time was thirteen degrees below zero (-25 celcius). He obeyed the order and stood in the street the whole night, remaining faithful to God. Miraculously, his eyesight was still functioning and he could see his officers and he could move his body despite the terrible cold. All throughout the ordeal, Vanya prayed for his persecutors. For the next twelve nights, Ivan continued to stand in the street outside his barracks. Miraculously, he did not freeze, nor did he beg for mercy. Ivan continued to speak about his faith to his comrades and officers.

Other miracles also confirmed his testimony. Once he was run over by a truck. He was told his life could only be saved by the amputation of an arm and part of a collapsed lung. Delirious with fever he earnestly prayed aloud. The next morning, he was completely healed.



Soldiers around him were converted, impressed by his ardent faith. His commanders continued to interrogate him, trying to get him to deny Jesus. They put him in refrigerated cells. They clothed him in a special rubber suit, into which they pumped air until his chest was so compressed he scarcely could breath.

In his interrogation, Vanya testified, “I have one higher allegiance, and that is to Jesus Christ. He has given me certain orders, and these I cannot disobey.”

At the age of 20, Ivan knew that the communists would kill him. On July 11, 1972, he wrote his parents, “You will not see me anymore.” He then described a vision of angels and heaven which God had sent to strengthen him for the last trial. A few days later, a coffin arrived at his parents' home, welded shut. Vanya's mother insisted it be opened. One of his brothers, who belonged to the Communist party, resisted, but the rest of the family prevailed. Vanya was barely recognizable. Witnesses, Christian and non-Christian alike, signed a statement which declared that his chest had been burned. His face and body were covered with lumps, bruises, and heel marks. His heart was punctured in six places.

In his last letter, dated July 15, 1972, Vanya wrote:

I desire that all of you, dear friends, young and old, remember this one verse. Revelation 2:10 “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Receive this, the last letter on this earth, from the least of the brethren.

Lord, give me the grace to love you like this. My life is not mine, help me to give it back to you.

God so blessed me. I don't see bad things in my dreams. I see bad things only when I sleep in the same bed with someone with a bad spirit.
Once, a pastor called me to help a girl who was stranded for a night. She came in, I gave her food and water to bath, gave her a change of cloth. Allowed her to share my bed.
I slept and dreamed that I was inside a grave with skeletons, it was raining seriously, I could hardly open my eyes in the rain, then all of sudden one skeleton became alive and came at me. There were other skeletons in the grave, but only this particular one was alive and came at me to bite me. See fight inside grave full of water and skeleton bones.
My hands became like metals. I was crushing the skeleton's bones like dry groundnuts, but the more I crushed it, it was still trying to wake up. Then I took the skull in my palm like an orange, I crushed it. I woke up. Mehn, this girl was awake looking at me. (me, I sleep with my lights on) she was awake. What?? I hardly dream, especially nightmares. I just knew, so, I didn't say a word. I went into warfare. (I can do two hours warfare lying down with you in the same bed but you won't know) The next day, she ran away so fast she refused breakfast.
Meanwhile, In the evening, seeing the way I welcomed her, she had begged me to allow her stay and attend an interview, I said No wahala. But the next day, she scammed, I never saw her again till today.
So, me I see these things only when I lay in the same bed with someone with a bad spirit. Other than that, nothing. Except it's a revelation.

HahahahahahahahaHHHa. This Midas Touch geared me towards one miracle like that enh. I bought the book but won't read all of it. One morning before I went out, I just picked it and opened a page where he gave a testimony of how he asked God for money, but God responded by saying He(GOD), didn't have any money in heaven. That all the money was on earth. He was told what to say to get what he wanted, he did and got the money. It's was very funny. So I got up and did exactly what he (Hagin) did and the money came.
I was scared to ask for too much, I just said I want 50,thousand naira every week. I put my Angel to work by telling him to go and get it, and rebuke Satan to take his hands off my money. I left and went about my business.
Like joke, a small contract I was running after for months was given to me without pressure again, another I never even asked for was given to me. One of it, I make 67,thousand naira weekly and the other from 50 to 70k on intervals. But 67k is constant.
I just keep doing what I read from that book. It works brethren. HahahahahahahahaHHHa.

Naa, doesn't work with me. I like to call a spade exactly what it is. But really,if we must go into this: yes! Anyone that claims supposedly or is believed to be a man/woman of God, it's not deemed wise to say just about anything against them. You never know who really has the anointing or not n to this I quote again 'Leave judgement to God' it's not our place to cast aspersions lest we incur some inexplicable inexplicable.

The teaching that because you are a child of the light, you can't be harmed even when you behave recklessly is the same with those who claimed a believer can't be oppressed or obessed by demons. If you believe a born again Christian with the Spirit of God can be oppressed and obsessed with demons, a wrong hand on your head can and will get you obsessed or oppressed of the devil.

My point is, the practice of astral projection was common place in first and second century Jewish practice in fact it was so common that the Apostle Paul remarked….”He knew a man who once ascended heaven….” contemporary Jewish religious leaders were very concerned, at the often conflicting accounts and reports of heavenly ascension in “spirit” they frowned very heavily on the practice and sought to discourage it, this is why you have the author of John, the most esoteric of all the gospel writers proclaim in John 3v13 “no man has ascended heaven.” It was a bid to stamp out the practice.

Like most things, some will find a good use for it, others of a more devious motivation will find other uses for it

My dear, I don't know why? But am beginning to train my mind to accept death if it comes to that. Christians are being killed everyday because of their faith. Do you think they prepared for it?

He chose me, he knew what he will go through, in the garden his sweat was like drops of blood, he could have ended it there, but he didn't. If he was just beheaded, it would been a simple dead, but they crucified Him. And know what? When he did that, I was a sinner, living my life without a care. Scorning and scoffing at Him. But He died anyway.

One morning before I went out, I just picked it and opened a page where he gave a testimony of how he asked God for money, but God responded by saying He(GOD), didn't have any money in heaven. I was scared to ask for too much, I just said I want 50,thousand naira every week. I put my Angel to work by telling him to go and get it, and rebuke Satan to take his hands off my money. I left and went about my business.
Like joke, a small contract I was running after for months was given to me without pressure again, another I never even asked for was given to me. One of it, I make 67,thousand naira weekly and the other from 50 to 70k on intervals. But 67k is constant.
