Did bokoharam withdraw from their frequent attack against innocent nigerians because of buhari or they were defeated by our gallant soldiers whom are ill-equipped to confront the dreaded terrorists?If the latter is the case,then which weapons were used to defeat them?My question is because buhari said $2.1b that was meant for arms purchase was share to pdp members.

You obviously don't have people at the war front where the whole battle is going down that's why you are asking this Question, the issue is not that arms were not bought but rather the arms that were bought weren't as adequate as the prices that were quoted for their purchase.
Forget politics and be truthful for once, inflation of price of purchase is as criminal as not even purchasing the said items.

Look at it this way- Boko Haram no longer gets the kind of funds it used to get from their sponsors (since most of them are on the run after Baba came in). Remember it was Jonathan himself who said they've infiltrated his government. Also recall some officials alleged that truckloads of arms confiscated by the customs at their entry point up north were released on orders from Dasuki who sent soldiers in trucks to ask customs officials to stand down- it was alleged the weapons were meant for insurgents.

Now, Baba has ensured:

1. The insurgents are starved of funds since just by his emergence. Most people who had access to federal coffers and leverage on that to ensure the sustenance of the war by funding the insurgents no longer do. The funds to procure supplies and pay salaries of fighters are no longer there. By funding the terrorists, they ensure the war drags on and ensure hefty defence contracts keep coming to them.

2. Transport and supply routes of the insurgents have been blocked. We saw pictures and read several accounts of how boats and ferries carrying fuel and other supplies for the terrorists were intercepted and destroyed in some cases.

3. The insurgents have been experiencing food shortages- you can't fight on empty stomach.

4. The moral of our men in uniform have been boosted tremendously as there now appears to be genuine concern for their needs. The reversal of the sentences of those who mutinied for lack of arms to engage the terrorists also helped in this regard.

It is often said that to end an insurgency, uproot its source of funding. You may kill all the insurgents you want, but if a single terrorist has access to sufficient funds, he can cause catastrophic destructions wherever, whenever. Imagine a terrorist having access to a nuclear bomb or chemical weapons- all these are acquired using money.

All these and others put together helped to degrade the capacity of the terrorist and the lull we are witnessing is due to those facts.

The war hasn't "ended" as you put it, but the end is definitely in sight.

According to Buhari led FG, Dasuki was alleged and charged to the court to have misappropriated less than #15 billion of the whole $2.1 billion (about #400 billion) arm deal. Although #15 billion is a big money but the issue has been politicized to appear to people as if Dasuki embezzled the whole $2.1 billion( about #400 billion) .
