just reconfigure your email address on the phone

go to 'seetings' -> 'accounts'

add the email addresses (yahoo, gmail etc) you had on the phone previously, and you should be able to see all the contacts in your phone book again

T'was an attempt to escape the archaic OS that brought me here.

Pls where can I get the autoloader or run the update coz av waited over 6 months to see if I'll get any OTA prompt all to no avail before I resorted to the friend who ran this developer auto loader that landed me here. Also tried using bb link to do this...dat one sef no work.

Only way to get the latest update is to do a security wipe after BACK UP, then connect phone to pc with BlackBerry link installed and with a good Internet connection, and reload the OS. This will install the latest OS on your phone.

remove your battery, then plug in your charger without the battery, your phone will try to restart, then put in your battery while the charger is still plugged in, that will sync your battery level with your phone, then remove the battery and keep it somewhere for at least 2hrs, after that charge it, it will start charging from 0%. This is the combination of two methods to rectify that problem, just follow it faithfully

Mobile Hotspot taxes your network radio which in turn taxes your battery

Your device radio is receiving GSM signal and also acting as a transmitter at the same time which will require a lot of power and that makes your battery hot....once your battery becomes hot it will loose charge very fast....remember your secondary school conservation of energy principles

Solution, keep your device plugged in when you're using it a Hotspot and keep your device on a cool surface to keep the battery temp down

It was explained to you when you were setting up your Hotspot the first time... it drains battery, keep it plugged in.

Getting hot yes depending on the apps you have running and the workload piled on the ram abi goat or sheep

Q5 only has 8gb internal storage with about 6gb usable out of the box. To upgrade OTA you need at least 4gb unhindered space which is impossible once u start installing apps

Your option is to use a pc with BlackBerry link for the update

you have to get a pC with stable internet connection. download and install BlackBerry Link.
open the program and connect your device to the PC with the usb cable that cane with your device
BlackBerry Link will detect your device and you should look for the option to update your device. leave the rest to the PC
