Why Are Pastor's Children Nonchalant To The Gospel? by Dahveydson(m): 2:18pm On Jan 24, 2016
I have had the privilege of being friends with children of pastors and their nonchalant attitude to the gospel and not taking after their parents always leave me puzzled.

Is it that they are simply tired of it or their parents are living a fake life or they feel neglected by their parents full attention to the work of God? - it's really confusing.

Dear Nairalanders, what do you think is the reason for this?

Similar question here:

https://www.nairaland.com/1312/why-pastors-children-often-embrace/1

Let me adopt this response...

Queen1:
Pastors children are always the target of the devil to get the parents they on their parts are negligent when it comes to their children. What they need is prayers because i have never seen an instance in which a pastors child is called after his or her parent the reverse is always the case.

In addition, lack of parental responsibility.

Prophet Eli's mistake of inadequate parental responsibility towards his children was repeated by Prophet Samuel.

The sons of Eli, however, had no regard for the law. Hophni and Phinehas looked upon the sacrifices not as a means of worshiping God, but as something which was there for their own personal use and pleasure. They would boldly take anything they wanted by thrusting their three-pronged fork into the meat (I Samuel 2:14). This was a blatant disregard for God's commandments. Eli refused to caustic his children.

As you seek to rear your children in God's fear you must uphold the honor of God above everything. Your children need to see that God means everything to you, and because of your love for God you will not tolerate lack of respect. You may not put up with a big mouth and talking back. You may not allow your children to thumb their finger at the worship of Jehovah, but you must put your foot down and discipline them for their failure to attend catechism, societies, or church. Will you honor your children above God? Note: God will not be mocked. If you don't discipline your children, God will!

The consequences will be grievous.

- Rev. Allen Brummel's message.

If u remember Eli in the bible u would know it's the parents fault..

Once the parent re after money, personality, increasing their value customers, nd forget those young souls that ve being given unto them to nurture they ve sinned...

If u remember, Eli died when he heard of the deaths of his sons being the punishment from God...

Most of them know their parents are fake... What's the point of practicing what the preacher preaches while the preacher himself doesn't

1. Cos They Were Not Called Just Lik Dia Parents !!!

2. Peer Pressure - Dia Parent Wnt Give Dem The Opportunity To Do Some Tinz Inside , So Wen Dey Re Outside " Dey Try To Do The Tinz Their Friends Do Too. .

3. People expect too much from them, forgetting that they are also humans, even the pastors themselves errs, just to confirm their human nature, not to talk of their kids.

4. Very many pastors rarely have time for their kids, they get away with the wealth, fame and connections attached to their work/ministry, hence, their children's rebellious actions.

5. Some pastors think that it is automatic for their kids to always be well-behaved because they are pastor's kids, forgetting that, God will not do that which we are supposed to do, it is our duty to train our kids in the way of the Lord, any parents who expect God to do that for him is living in illusion and will definately reap his negligence just like Eli the prophet in the bible.
May God help us all.

Because they live with the hypocrites called pastors.
The veil of pretense comes off at home.
The children can see what gullible followers cannot see.

Seun, am wrIting this to your attention, there are some mods on nairaland that ban users without any justIfiable reasons. Iv begin to notice that nairaland seem to promote more anti pdp threads and pro apc threads and comment. I was banned few mins ago without breaking any nairaland rules just because I made an anti apc comment. Seun you need to investigate your mods very well , some are acting like dictators and remember this Nothing last forever. I know after now one useless mod who reasons like a kid will ban and maybe delete my comment.

THEY NEED PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS TO BE INTRESTED IN THE GOSPEL. PASTORS KIDS ARE LIKE ALL OTHER KIDS WHO HAVE CHOICES AND PREFERENCES AND NOT NECESSARILY SMALL PASTORS WHO ARE EXPECTED TO ACT AS SUCH

DOES BEEN A DOCTOR CONFER KNOWLEDGE ON DOCTOR'S KIDS.

Sometimes they feel pressured by society and their parents to be perfect. just like teachers kids are expected to be brilliant and good in the subject their parents teach.

they dont behave well most time because as the father is chaseing satan around in retaliation ,if he cant get the man and wife next in line is d children.most times they will do just what other kids are doing and satan will amplify it for them ,thats why when they rebel it gets worse.

chei,i see this very often, i believe its easier for the devil to get to the children, when the devil wants to bring men of God down, they try all means if it doesnt work they take a hit on their children i hope that answers your question

the devil can't get their parents, so he/she(whatever the devil looks like) tries the kids most times. so i think... undecided

Hmm, well I'll say speak for yourself. My Pastor's children have always been well behave and show good upbringing. They have also been very committed to the things of God. And by the way, their Dad is not even the founder or GO of the church. It just depends on how serious the Pastor takes his duties as a Pastor, husband and as a father.
