Good evening fellow NL's. After doing my sim registration last week, which was successful. This evening i got this text from scammers. 'Yello! We are validating your sim registration. Kindly text YES to 799 to give MTN permission to use your BVN registration details for this purpose. Thank you'. Please if you equally got this message, know that it is a scam. Do not give out your BVN number for any purpose. Thank you.

The funny thing is that message sent to 799 delivers to 11111.

My broda it is not a scam, there is a reason you have customer care lines....i got same text and verified via CC that it is actually authentic....

And it is not rocket science for your BVN to be linked to your account if its the number u get your alerts on, actually its the logical thing to do to ease stress on the us the subscriber's

i havent seen in any of thier advert that they do need the BVN number for registration.

This are the issues, them make things easy for una mbanu....did they ask for your bvn u were simply asked to text yes if you want them to use it.....

Life is not all about Facebook and instagram use google sometimes too

It's not a scam. It's authentic but I don't think it's working for everyone. Some did and they're still having their lines blocked.
