This is possible given that some mammals in the cold arctic region hibernate or freeze for months during the long winter cold months and return back to life when the winter is over and the weather becomes warmer again. Animals known to do this are skunks, bees, snakes, groundhogs, bears, bats etc.

The guy claimed an already frozen rat was brought back to life and we are telling him the folly in that statement and you come around saying he's right.


Bringing back to life isn't possible yet in cryogenics , reviving dead tissue or healing is possible but not bringing back to life a whole organism ( complex multicellular organisms that is ). The only point you may have is that research is still ongoing to see the possibility of that but we are still very far from that.

Did you even read the articles you posted before posting them ? A mammoth wasn't actually physically brought back to life , a complete DNA sequence or strand was found preserved in ice , if you know anything about biotechnology/biology you'll know it is a significant find because over time cells from dead animals lose "information" in the DNA sequence and one may not find a complete DNA strand. Nothing was said about freezing a complete animal and bringing it back to life after thawing , that is just preposterous , it is only seen in Hollywood movies. Please get your facts right.

Hibernation is quite different from this , in hibernation the animal doesn't freeze up as suggested by this thread.

There is a type of frog that lives in extreme winter climates that freezes solid and during the spring thaw also revives. Something in these animals systems must protect against the formation of damaging ice crystals in their cells which allows them to reawaken from their frozen slumbers.

And, for your information, before the DNA could be totally useless it would literally take thousands or millions of years!!. In fact, with the little cell tissues here and there the scientists are able to extract, they're working on the possibility of resurecting a new mammoth using the small fragments of specimen on ground.
