It makes me feel very uncomfortable when I hear people make careless and perhaps illogical arguments. I am not even referring to your calling Kemi a novice or calling Lai Mohammed "Liar". I however find it pedestrian to cite the "indictment" of Amaechi by the panel set by Wike as a proof of victimization by the current government. I don't know if it is your expectation that all Wike could do was to set a panel, spend taxpayers money, indict Amaechi, but rather than take him to court because the panel lacks jurisdiction, expect the judiciary to take up the case for them while they pass judgements on newspapers. It is even more baffling that it is APC, an opposition party and to which the subject belongs, that you expect to take action on their report. You also referred to all those under investigation as belonging to PDP only. What is even more interesting is that you are so bold in making your comment. Smh...

airsaylongcon:

Kemi is still a novice and I can tolerate that. How about the Chief liar of Nigeria?

Let us seperate victimisation from corruption. Amaechi was indicted by a panel of enquiry in Rivers State. What did APC do about it? Throw it under the carpet. One must not only be seen to be fighting corruption as evidenced by the numerous arrests and humiliation of PDP members, one must also actually fight corruption by uprooting the witch within. The Yorùbá have a proverb wọn sọ wípé kòkòrò tòun je ẹ̀fọ́ abẹ ẹ̀fọ́ ló wà. (The pest ruining the vegetable can be found within the vegetable).

so sorry but it takes you nothing to choose your words carefully.

Someone else's view point might not be in line with yours, that doesn't make his stance illogical.

every comment on the subject has made sense by adding a point or two to the argument which I was actually enjoying until I saw the above. I'm still looking for the point you made in favour of or against the argument.

View point? You call referring to a reputable minister "Liar" and the minister of finance "novice" as someone's view point that may not be in line with mine and something u enjoy and yet you find expressing my point of view "not choosing my words carefully"? Really?!

FYI it wasn't my intention to add anything to a discussion I view as grossly subjective and unintelligent. I hope I have the right to do that.
Thanks

Errrhmmm! Lemme just come in here, speaking about numerous arrests; Sen. Yerima, Brig. Gen. Jafaru Isa, Gov.Murtala Nyako, Alh. Aminu Baba Kusa are clearly not PDP card carrying members but yet under EFCC investigation currently.

Brother, I think sincerely speaking the fight on corruption has to start from somewhere, let's just all agree we need corruption out of our system, then we can develop a TOR later.

Develop a TOR after the so-called fight has begun? That's like saying your salary will be discussed after you start work. Get it right I'm NOT against anti-corruption. I'm against selective populist anti-corruption.

Funny your put the indictments in quotes. Why did the majority APC senate refuse to discuss it prior to Amaechi screening? Funny also how my calling Kemi and LAIr incompetent and liars respectively is piquing some folks. Calling the past Commander in chief clueless and a drunk was ok by APC but referring to the cow charmer elected as president is now condescending or referring to his devil anointed cabinet as incompetent is now an offence?

If Amaechi is not corrupt the APC SHOULD have allowed the report of the panel to be discussed. In saner climes, people resign when corrupt allegations are made against them. They resign to fight for their name. If Amaechi wasn't corrupt he would have gone to court alleging defamation of character

I wasn't born when he ruled in 84. But as a resident doc in UCH my dad and mum ran for dear life when he summarily sacked all resident docs because they went on a nationwide strike asking for better working conditions. He sacked them and asked them to pack out of government quarters within 24 hours. My father said he picked race like a small boy. My mama chop koboko tire because she dey queue for essenco. Add that to d "dogs and baboons" talk of 2011 and his "an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north" and you will see why he can never win me over.

I like his anti-corruption drive and I'm actually in support of the rogues he is screwing with. I just want him to do to d goose, what he is doing to d gander.

And while doing that, fix the economy.

Airsaylongcon! I respect you a lot as a Technoprenuer that you are, but clearly, not when it comes to political arithematic, how can you say 'selective populist anti-corruption' war when clearly people from all works of life are begining to join the EFCC bandwagon?

A politically motivated instructions cannot be gainsaid in any democracy around the world, but clearly the fight against corruption as it currently stands is far from being Selective, antagonist, nepotist or malappropriate in the view of the majority.

Everytime I pull out, I get pulled back in. Ok anti-corruption as practiced by my President and Commander in Chief President Muhammadu Buhari s NOT populist. I concur.

Meanwhile as Oliver Twist wey I be has anyone critically scrutinised the email from Bonny? The wordings of the email notifying us that recruitment is ongoing is very vague O. What does "due course" mean in pidgin? Na like dis we go dey dey? Until 100 o'clock?

It's best if you guys keep an open mind still. As far as I'm concerned, NLNG didn't do anybody anybody any good by sending out "recruitment is still ongoing", I mean, we all know/knew the recruitment is/wasn't finished yet, none of us needed a reminder for that.

Interpreting it as a success mail will be a sorry case of counting ones chickens before they hatch. What stopped them from making it less ambiguous? Maybe they should have even sent a blank mail...it's almost the same thing!!!!!! angry

I am not pro anybody! But at least Buhari has started probing corruption. I careless if it's all PDP as long as they are corrupt let them be prosecuted! Why didn't the past administration probe all these other people you mentioned? Name one sigle high profile corruption trial under the past administration? Can we all just set aside sentiments please! We need to make corrupton as unattractive as possible!

You call the present cabinet the best team we've ever had? Like seriously? I know Pat Utomi for one is better than Kemi Adéoṣùn. Lai Mohammed best Minister of Information? Frank Nweke Jr performed miles better. Abeg let's not fall for that politics bait that was thrown here. We will just argue tire. I am anti-Buhari until he probes Babangida, Abacha, Abdulsalam and Obasanjo. Add Tinubu and Amaechi to that list. Until that day, all this so-called anti-corruption stance is exactly that, just a stance.

The past administration could not probe because even the person at the helm of affairs was their "don". Imagine if GEJ had won last election, I'm not saying Buhari is the best, but it's definitely better than what we would have gotten under "our hero".......who hero hep?

Politics is part of our lives. NLNG is run by politics and this recruitment also has a political dimension. So, there is no derailment here. Air your views guys and give honour to whom honour is due and insult to whom insult is due.

Yes, keep an open mind. That's the spirit. However, I am sure those that got the 'ongoing mail' are the successful ones. Afterall, what prevents them from saying that one is unsuccessful when he really is. Those guys are at a cross road. Yes, those that got mail are qualified to work with us, but how many of them do we absorb, considering the situation of things? Ok, why don't we wait till so and so time till things will improve? Alright, until then, let's inform them that the process is ongoing without any form of commiitment. That is the situation I think. Remember, the mail says: 'with reference to your participation in AC'.

Exactly! Twas why I said 'Perhaps' and 'that's my prayer'. Anyway we are all open minded, at this point we can't even argue if NLNG meant 'Successful or Awaiting list' as far as the mail is concern. I am however still optimistic; my prayers!

Not to sound like a spoilsport though, but definitely those of us that got the 'in due course' email are just those that passed the AC cut-off. Forget all the talk about them not wanting to make a commitment. The people that passed this AC are more than the amount that they had initially wanted to pick (about 120 before they then wanted to reduce the no), and yes some of us sadly will still be let go. If it's any consolation, at least we know we were successful at the AC. Some sorta morale booster that is.

Anyway, let's just keep our minds open. Good thing is that we knw our odds have largely increased and our chances of joining @Forkadict are better, bad thing is that we dont know how long this carefully-crafted 'in due course' will be. All is well IJN. Amen.

That's cruel man. Why raise someone's hopes only to dash them in the end. Not good at all. If an individual is informed that he aced the ac and is let off the hook for reasons which I'm certain nlng will not reveal to him how on earth will that boost his morale?

lol....I see you bruv... Been on a chill pill for a while now. Enjoying all the arguments going on.

It'll be more than just cruel for NLNG not to have just told every unsucessful person that they were unsuccessful.

If 30 people were unsuccessful, what's the point of telling 15 now and telling the other 15 they are still in the running, only to later send them an unsuccessful mail later.

Thats why i feel/think itsTime4me is right with his analysis, but then again that's what my head wants me to believe, NLNG WHAT IS THE REALITY?
