JOB TITLE: Internal Control and Risk Analyst

LOCATION: LAGOS ISLAND.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The qualified staff will be responsible for rendering an independent, objective evaluation of effectiveness

of risk management, control and governance processes of the microfinance bank and proffer

improvements where necessary.

He/She will also be responsible for managing or conducting performance, operational, financial, IT and

compliance audit assignments with emphasis on a risk-based approach designed to assist management in

the attainment of its objectives.

He/She will be responsible for the execution of the internal controls functions including the preparation of

an audit manual, audit plan etc. She/he will also conduct risk assessment of departments/functional areas in

accordance with timelines and conduct audit testing of potential risk areas and identify reportable issues

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 Experience in auditing, control & compliance in any financial institution

 Experience in implementing policies and procedures, including process evaluation and documentation

 A demonstrated knowledge of finance, accounting and internal controls

 Familiarity with and understanding of the dynamics of small businesses and Microfinance controls

 Mathematics, business acumen and analytical skills

 Proficiency in Computer Applications Excel /Microsoft Office

 Understands the needs of a start-up, with willingness and ability to perform duties beyond the scope

of work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

 HND/University degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field

 3-7 years of professional experience and 3 years of full-time experience in internal auditing,

operations, accounting and business analysis.

 A second certification/degree in a specialty field (e.g., IT auditing, Fraud or fraud auditing, HR,

Legal, Accounting, Microfinance or Banking). This may substitute for one year of required

experience.

 Experience in Microfinance operations, or Banking or auditing in a supervising capacity.
