We all know how important it is saving the life of your battery means but for phone makers, that seems to be less of a problem as little or no improvements has been made over the years to fix this problem.

Coming down to App developers, most apps developed are not battery efficient and that includes Facebook app. Findings based on research reveals that using Facebook app alone on your smartphone consumes 15-20% of your battery life. But when accessed from Facebook's mobile site, considerable amount of battery life was actually saved.

A recent test done by the Guardian on Android (Huawei Nexus 6P) and iPhone 6S Plus shows that when facebook was accessed through mobile site, 20% more battery Life was left at the end of the day for the Android. While 15% more battery life was saved in the case of the iPhone. Both tests had the Messenger app installed, making it clear that the only thing draining the life off your battery in your smartphone was Facebook app.

So for users who want more battery life span off their smartphone during the day, using the mobile version of the site would really help. Otherwise you can get an extra battery if accessing facebook through the mobile version of the site isn't really your thing.
