Going by our present condition under apc' i think jonathan's government would have been far much better because they had a solid economic road map. Forget about the corruption allegations of they were only manufactured by apc just to discredit jonathan's government.

If you don't want sentiments you don't want the truth

Nigeria would have gone to shambles

Economy worse than it already is

More funds will be stolen and shared

And we'll be non the wiser

In all sincerity I don't think we should 'forget ' CORRUPTION even if it's 'allegations'. It brought the 'giant of Africa to perpetual bondage.
If Jonathan had won
1-increased Boko harm activity
2-increased and massive cases of corruption
3- Nigeria revenue generation will be crippled as no will power to enforce the TSA

Finally and most importantly, I will have ran to Benin rep or any west African country as the calamity that will be in Nigeria can only be told and not seen

its not true my brother. Haven't you seen buhari's budget of corruption? Don't you know that boko haram has killed and is still killing many people. jonathan ran an open and transparent government where by everything that happens is known by all and everyone is allowed to talk unlike buhari' government that is full of lies and propaganda . They don't say the truth. Open your eyes you will see that nigeria is in a mess under buhari.

Today's events prove that Buhari is totally lost and insincere.

Johnathan remains the best and would have find solutions to Nigeria's present predicament

Buhari remains a curse even to the treacherous South.

God bless the better South. cool

The country would have collapsed

Despite the fall in oil prices and its effect on government revenue, the looting would have continued unabated

Madam puff puff would have gone on a borrowing spree to sustain the looting

lame! Buhari/apc with their propaganda won and we are completely shortchanged. Look at the #budgetofCorruption which is an official policy document validating corruption by the war against corruption chanters. GEJ remains the best option rejected by emotions on 28/3/2015.
A govt who can't do simple budget can't be trusted to do the difficult part of implementation and monitoring . We have been scammed

Thousands of people would still have their jobs be it in SURE-P, YOUWIN, Graduate internship programs.
At least we have only Jonathan to blame then but now a lot of blaming is flying around taking peoples productive time. You see yourself compiling list of people to blame but in Jona's time we have only him to blame giving us room to do other things.

I believe your deduction have been done hastily. Please wait to dec 2018, left for me I shall not be hard on him for the budget, investigation of perm sec and Directors are ongoing, that's what responsible leadership does.
I have been happy with PMB so far, I got more than I've bargained for

you are a buharist and buharists don't have any problem with the mess we are in. For the margin that ensured he won having failed on 3 attempts on the strength of buharists, are feeling shortchanged! The streets aint smiling and baba is lost. Imagine the depreciated naira that is already technically devalued and he still insists no devaluation.
The painful part is many don't get it, purchasing power has been eroded akin to salary reduction!

Pls explain to us why we have a budget of corruption

Why exchange rate is now $1 to N 310

Loss of jobs

Slow pace of infrastructural development.

Oga all these stories about the budget is just APC playing to the gallery.

Osinbajo had been singing zero-based budgeting since May.
The Perm Secs and Directors were having meeting with PMB virtually every week.
Osinbajo assured us that the 2016 budget will be based on ZBB
PMB assured us too.

The ministers took over and in three weeks had all the opportunity to scrutinize the budgets of their respective ministries. They did not.
PMB was postponing budget submission, we thought he was cross-checking the budget well. All those times he wasted were to no avail.

Everyone from the Minister of Finance to Minister of Budget to VP (Who is the coordinator of the economy) to PMB had their chance to scrutinize the budget. They did not.

If these people cannot scrutinize a budget, what can they do? What were they elected and appointed to do?

PMB boldly presented a budget of change that he did not read. Is that the ultimate sign of incompetence.

Now, this is where things get worse.

The budget was first stolen. Then when there was public outcry, it was formally withdrawn.

So, PMB and his merry band of ministers had another chance to scrutinize the budget. But did not. Instead they duplicated more and reshuffled the corrupt figures.

Imagine that.

Now, they want to probe Perm Secs and Directors. They are only looking for people's careers to sacrifice for their incompetence. Why did they fail to scrutinize the budget before submitting it, then fail to scrutinize it better after withdrawing it.

Why are you letting these people take you for a ride? How old are you?

Let me ask you, if Nigeria was a company and all these things happened under the CEO, will the CEO not be sacked? The CEO of MTN was sacked after the fine for his incompetence. Did you hear of any director or C-level executive getting the pink slip.

When you are a leader, everything is your fault.

It is the same treatment they meted out on GEJ, and now you want to absolve Buhari. Why are you proving yourself to be a partisan hyprocrite?

The value and depreciation of the Naira is majorly about trade. We've got nothing at the moment except a 'devalued' oil, which is not a fault of his.

Barrage of issues, where do I begin sef?
National budget start from individual, unit, departments, ministry and every on knows it not a one-man show but a chain reaction. Earlier budget had been just to increase price of last year budget and pass, but now the formula has changed and everybody is grappling with teething problem, I don't think we should crucify this admin just yet.
A CEO can commit lot of mistake and be forgiven but the grave ones is if it incur losses of money and/ or lives. MTN sacked their because of loss of money, recall also Nigerians also sacked GEJ because of money( corruption) and lives (Boko haram).
In conclusion, when you are a leader everything is not the leaders fault but he is accountable hence he ensure he get competent people.

Chief, we all know it is a chain reaction. That is why we have a commander-in-chief to scrutinize everything before submitting it.

By the looks of things, it means we should equally be worried about the treaties and agreements that have been signed by PMB till date. Because, it is very possible that he did not read them.

I will be honest with you, I know you have not exchanged your brain for Aisha rice that is why I am still replying you. But let me put it simply. All those units, departments, and ministries toil day and night to prepare the budget, so that the president can have enough time to scrutinize it when it gets to his table.

Why on God's green earth are you excusing him from scrutinizing the budget? Why was he elected? Everything is done for him, now the only task of scrutinizing the budget, he cannot do. That is gross incompetence.

About the ZBB, Osinbajo has been talking about it since May. For 9 months, the supposed civil service officials have been grilled on how to employ ZBB. If they know that they could not implement it or that it will be thorny, why not make it a phased implementation? Will Nigerians kill them? Did Nigerians ask for ZBB? Is it not only them that use their mouth to promise ZBB?

They had 8 months to tell us that the ZBB wasn't feasible, they did not. Who should we then blame? Ourselves or them who have not been insincere? If Osinbanjo or PMB had said the 2016 budget will not have full implementation of ZBB, but that they would strive to ensure complete ZBB implementation by 2017, would we kill them?

This over-achieving nature of making promises you cannot fulfill is nauseating. That is how they said they would stabilize oil price.

So are you saying this is not a grave mistake? Putting the nation on standstill because of avoidable callousness is a grave mistake. I am not saying he should be impeached, I am only saying that he should accept responsibility for his incompetence.

APC should be able to use the word SORRY! Right now the only word they use is "BLAME"!

Personally, I wouldn't care less if this happened in another country. My only annoyance is this affects everybody, and certain people because of sentiments and poorly developed brains continue to feed his battered ego.

In answer to the OP question, well nobody really knows. What is certain is that the same economic pressures brought about by the low oil prices would have been felt by GEJ. However one thing we have to also consider is that this would have been GEJ's last term, without the pressure of another election he would have been able to fully focus on the economy, perhaps bring in more technocrats into his cabinet like OBJ did in his second term. Either way whoever one the election the current economic slowdown was inevitable.
