it doesn't matter what I think about it, Human Rights is not the product of ones conformation to societal standards, acknowledging the right of another person whom you don't necessarily agree with is the moral thing to do. it is independent of my opinion or yours, and the purpose of the government is to be the big guy who stands for the little guy.

That's what Jesus did when he saved the woman caught in adultery from being stoned, according to you Jesus supported adultery because he stopped the LAW from taking it's course.
