Since the investigation into the $2.1billion arms deal blew open, big shots in the Goodluck Jonathan-led administration are being interrogated almost on a daily basis. The arrowhead of this scandal is the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki(retd.) who has been in detention since December 2015. Though the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has said Goodluck Jonathan can only be summoned on President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive, there are indications that with the recent arrest of the former president’s ex-aides, he(Jonathan) may be invited by the anti-graft agency. It is worthy of note that a lot of Nigerians are of the view that only God can save Goodluck Jonathan from being prosecuted! In no particular order, Dawn-To-Dusk News who can directly or indirectly influence the decision of EFCC on Goodluck Jonathan.

1. President Muhammadu Buhari

2. Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo(retd.) - Former Head of State/President

3. Gen. Ibrahim Babangida(retd.) - Former Head of State

4. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma(retd.) - Former Minister of Defence

5. Mr. Ahmed Joda - 86-year-old Super Permanent Secretary in the 1960s

6. Prof. Tam David-West - Former Minister of Petroleum

7. HRH Alhaji Umar Faruk - Emir of Daura {Buhari's hometown in Katsina State}

8. Chief Audu Ogbeh - Minister of Agriculture; Former PDP national chairman

9. Justice Umar Abdullahi - Former President of the Court of Appeal; President Buhari's classmate/close friend

10. His Eminence Sa'ad Abubakar III - Sultan of Sokoto; Spiritual Leader of Muslims in Nigeria

11. Prof. Itse Sagay - Chairman, Presidential Anti-corruption Advisory Committee

I always tell people. As kind as he's an ex CinC, nothing will happen to him. He can arrest and jail his aidea , but, him? A big No.

Except PMB will start from OBJ unto Yaradua, and then GEJ.

I'm not supporting the looting, but that's how the presidency is.

Ok. How can they do that? From that list, I see only 1,2 and 4 as the main arrow heads that can save former clueless one. 3 and 5 may give a try and be heard but the rest? Capital NO!
The question is save him from what? Don't delude yourself about Jonathan in trouble. I think you need to worry more about yourself and how to survive this trying times. Jonathan, I tell you can adequately take care of himself.

Wait a minute! What about the “GEJ is our hero crew” and the “GEJ 2019 crew” and the “GEJ conceded defeat because his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian crew” grin

These groups or crews should also be able to save Ebele Jonathan since according to them GEJ is their only infallible messiah who holds the key to the Nigeria's economic stability & greatness grin

Now, let me make myself clear; GEJ must be tried in the law courts for his recklessness, misappropriation of funds & corrupt practices and if found guilty, must be sentenced to atleast 72Years in jail with hard labour.

But If Buhari decides, out of sentiments to sweep GEJ's corrupt practices under the carpet, then he will realise the reason Y fire & gunpowder do not sleep together.
You have just succeeded in saying nothing .

Fantasy of a naïve blogger.

Not that easy. Buhari no dey look face o.

If it was that easy Sultan and co would have "saved" Dasuki, a Sokoto prince.

The only thing that can save and is saving GEJ is the respect PMB has for him as a former president.
This is my sentiment.
It seems there is this espirit de corps among Nigeria former rulers.

Nothing will happen to GEJ, it's just not politically expedient to go after 1) an ex president 2) who is an ijaw minority and 3) who conceded victory in the last election. A way will be found to give him a soft landing and spare his blushes if as we all suspect all fingers point to him.

Jonathan remains untouchable.
Jonathan is TOUCHABLE.
The issue is the singular action of accepting defeat and handing over makes the situation precarious, because in this part of the world it is not common leaders sit tight and manipulate the electoral process ( but thanks to Jega in our case) and the whole world want to encourage other African leaders to hand over and not seat tight hence prevailed on PMB as it will be yardstick for other African leader, that if GEJ is tried others will be scared and many do everything to remain perpetually remain in power.

Who will save Buhari from the way he is managing the economy?

If care is not taken, poverty will kill more people than Boko Haram. sad
