This man has flaoted factories of cement,tomato,wheat,sugar,vita,macroni,juice and flour.The list is endless.This is just one man from the north.Now he wants to float refinery,rice etc..This is great news...But where are the other billoneers?

Dangote would soon take over from government completely. May God preserve the mans life and give him more wisdom. Sometimes I wonder whether he's the only 'big man' in Nigeria, why can't other big men do things like this? Why cant state governments champion massive projects like this?

we should celebrate industrial developments in the country irrespective of which area they come from. Whether rice is produced in jigawa or Sorghum is exported from Anambra, it means less rice is imported less forex is demanded and in the case of Sorghum exports it means forex is generated in both cases the naira gets stronger and that benefits ALL of us.

the richer the people of Anambra get the more they will buy the goods produced in Jigawa and vice versa

It's a win-win for everybody, even Lagos state without producing rice or Sorghum benefits because there is less migration by jobless youths from these states to choke up the infrastructure in Lagos.

Dangote grouped claimed they already have a rice farm during the GEJ period..That was how they got the license to import about 100,000 MT of rice per year.
The govt then only gives licence to import when you also produce locally. I guess they are trying to live up to their word finally.

Dangote is one billionaire whose money affects countless numbers of workers in the country because he keeps investing in the country unlike many so called fake industrialist who made money in Nigeria but take the money to fund nations economy.. If the idiots that have been stealing our money dared to invest it in the country it would have been better..but alas, they stole and divert the money outside..may God punish them all without mercy

This government sef. Do we always have to wait for Dangote to start something like this before it makes sense? All the farmers up north are now in Abuja and environs riding okada and keke napep, carrying semi unclad women and eating indomie and egg everyday. You must create enough incentives to lure them back to that farms.

Hmmm....20 000 hectares of land... is this all state land?...or some of it grabbed from the locals? ... and such a massive farm would affect the life of the community.... water supply.... free movement of people and animals...I hope they considered the welfare of the local residents. And why would the governor be promising to bend over backwards to make the venture profitable for investors?..and to be looking for foreign investors? What concessions wuld he be giving them?....why not put the same offers to locals first? In other countries foreign investors would have to commit to community development .....such as providing infrastructure, providing housing etc.....before they can undertake such a venture. If foreigners would just be invited in to plant and reap profits then it would not be development but exploitation.

Wow. Finally we're diversifying from oil exports to agriculture. Nigeria will be great again. We should just have to do away with this tribalism of a thing.
