Yes, I prefer Marvel to DC comics wise, but I'll not blindly follow them just because it's a Marvel title. Liar! Liar! No such thing! And even if it's bad, so what?. At this point, I don't care if BvS has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I just want it to make a billion dollars at the box office.

I think the story written by Terrio is the main source of worry. WB execs feel it is too mature and serious compared to 'other' comic movies. You should read this...

Also, WB execs want the film to have more Batman scenes than Superman. We're likely to see Batman for at least the first 15 minutes of the movie. This suggests that WB has more confidence in this new Batman franchise, and might want to switch 2017 JL movie with a solo Batman movie directed by Affleck and another person. Zack Synder will still most probably direct Justice League 1 and 2, that's all. The biggest question would be if fans would be disposed to this new idea. I think a solo Batman isn't a bad idea, I heard it's going to be about Jason Todd (Redhood).

More BvS news, Here's a recent statement of Zack Synder:

Zack Snyder was a guest on the “Hall of Justice” podcast with Seth Everett this week to talk about his upcoming Doritos Super Bowl commercial contest. After explaining that the winner gets to work with him on a future DC Comics movie, the majority of the interview shifted towards Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Man of Steel, and Justice League.

Snyder revealed that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is about 99.9% done. They’re just waiting on some final 3D shots to come in and get approved. He also explained that fans won’t need to see Man of Steel before they see the sequel, and that he thinks of it as more of a prequel to the Justice League movie.

Snyder also addressed the criticism of Man of Steel, which had a darker take on Superman and even showed him killing one of his enemies. “People are always like ‘you changed Superman’,” Snyder explained. “If you’re a comic book fan, you know that I didn’t change Superman. If you know the true canon, you know that I didn’t change Superman. If you’re a fan of the old movies, yeah I changed him a bit.”

Snyder also argued that having the TV and movie universes separate are a very good thing for fans.

“As opposed to trying to shoehorn all of these storylines into a single universe, we let the characters exist in multi-universe, and therefore it’s a lot more fun and a lot more value for the audience. They get to see their favorite and most beloved characters on different adventures at the same time in different universes and it really makes the meal a lot richer and a lot more fun. We get to go with these guys in all different directions and I think that’s really the joy of what we’re trying to do over here at DC.”

Your analysis is wrong. Zack Snyder isn't terrible, the real issue is that people like you don't understand the basics of film production. I watched only the first three episodes of DareDevil and I lost interest completely. I haven't picked it up for over 7 months now. I watched Jessica Jones up to the first five episodes and I also lost interest. Something just seem off in those two Marvel series. Only Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seem very okay.

I guess you're one of those who felt the trailer showed too much because of doomsday. Heck, that movie is 150 minutes and just 3 minute trailers tell you everything? You guys have already made up your mind about the movie, so stop complaining.

I don't know why guys are so biased against BvS. Superheroes kill in Marvel movies, no one complains. But superman does it, everybody screams. Age of Ultron had nearly 40 TV slots with a trailer of hulk fighting, nobody says anything. DC does it, everybody screams! Just this morning, some random research group sponsored by I don't know who, came up and said their AI predicted that BvS has a 32% likelihood of making profit. Why didn't they include Civil War and other superhero movies in their useless list? Why only BvS? Are some people afraid of BvS succeeding at the box office? I just don't get it at all..

This is an interesting perspective from google trends on which upcoming comic book movie is more popular and most anticipated. This trend is customized starting from January 2013 to February 2016. Based on this trend time series, I'll rank box office impacts as thus:

1. BvS: Dawn of Justice
2. Suicide Squad
3. Captain America: CW
4. X-men: Apocalypse
5. Doctor Strange


Doctor strange is generating almost zero marketing buzz. I'm surprised that suicide squad is competing well with BvS...quite interesting! Well enough, BvS has been trending amazingly since 2013 even ahead of its major box office rival, Captain America: CW. It remains paramount to see how these trends will shore up box office numbers in 2016....
