That does not mean dat d likes of King Sunny Ade, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi,Evangelist Tope Alabi,Lagbaja omo baba mukomuko,Legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti alias Abami Eda,Mummy Onyeka Onwenu,Father Tuface Idibia etc don't sing good music that equally deserve Grammys but whoever whitefolks like,dem like......I love Nigerian music

Angelique Kidjo was recently in Lagos, Nigeria for a concert put together by Smooth FM Radio Station and after the event, she was interviewed by the radio station's top OAPs.
During the interview, she spoke fluent Yoruba and revealed that her mother has roots in Iseyin.
She further added that she still has family in Nigeria

Guy abeg swerve , Tuface can't win a Grammy with the kind of songs he sings , the only artiste I can think of coming close to winning is Asa.

How would the lady she sang about (Olajumoke) be trending and this legend wont trend too?

You dey mind am , comparing AK to Dare , Bez and Timi ( only Asa comes close ). The fact that she doesn't listen to her songs ( or doesn't like her songs ) or Nigerian radio stations don't play her songs doesn't mean others don't recognize her talent. Even her old tracks are top notch musical masterpieces , from Batonga to Agolo to Babalao. Other African artiste who are quite good are Hugh Masekela , Jimmy Duldu , Salif Keita and Yossouf N'dour ( I hope I got the spelling right ).

f**k the grammies... Someone remind me why Angelie kidjo won that award? Is that the best the racist music awards of the world can come up with?

If Grammy is the definition of good music Yanni would have won at least 10 by now. Anyway congrat to her, I still respect our Nigerian Music and its artiste.

Why won't you respect them, they sing what we hear.
