By Emma Ujah, Abuja Bureau Chief & Ndahi Marama ABUJA — The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has described the spate of suicide bombings and attacks on soft targets by Boko Haram, lately as actions of hungry and desperate terrorists.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed His declaration came on a day a document from the United Nations indicated that the global body released $58 million to assist 2.4 million people affected by Boko Haram-related violence from March 2015 to February 4, 2016. Borno State government also, yesterday, defied the protest by donor agencies’ and began relocating Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, from public schools to resettlement camps to allow for the resumption of students, after the schools were closed due to Boko Haram insurgency in March, 2014.

Mohammed, who spoke on the spate of bombing while fielding questions at a press briefing in Abuja, yesterday, said Boko Haram sect members were not only venting the anger of their hunger and desperation on soft targets but also trying to demonstrate that they were still relevant.

Meanwhile, Borno State government, yesterday, defied the protest by donor agencies’ and began relocating Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, from public schools to resettlement camps to allow for the resumption of students, after the schools were closed due to Boko Haram insurgency in March, 2014. Their protest was expressed through a representative from the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF, simply identified as Mr. Victor, to the committee that the donor agencies “are dissatisfied with the arrangements.” Similarly, the United Nations has released $58 million to assist 2.4 million people affected by Boko Haram-related violence in 2015.

This is the first time I'm witnessing a government that, even after winning the election, is STILL in CAMPAIGN MODE!

To even show you how lowly this man thinks of the iddiots that voted them into power, his FIRST role as minister of information was not about enlightening the people on the policies of the government for the sake of clarity, transparency and trust, but about GATHERING bloggers and Twitter warriors in Abuja, and paying them money in order to "SELF-CENSOR".

He currently has an assignment that involves paying off the big media houses in order to underreport the Boko Haram attacks "so as not to embarrass the government"! My goodness! These people value IMAGE-MAKING over and above the lives of the people who voted them into power.

We also haven't forgotten their December show of shame where they tried as much as possible to HIDE the fact that people were massacred in Borno state on the 25th. Even their useless internet minions **** tried to spin those lies but met a brickwall!

Lai Mohammed has yet to acknowledge the lives that have so far been cut short by Boko Haram since they assumed office. No word on Dalori, Maiduguri, Yobe or the other places, because they don't want to "embarrass the government". Ironically, most of those victims voted these iddiots into power.
