Lol, nd NE got that much after beefing up security in that region?
onomeasike:
It's still a budget proposal. However, you're standing logic on the head if on one hand iPod are threatening to cause mayhem, people like the op kept quiet, and you expect government to waste scarce resources on development when the most apparent need is security to contain any act of war against the state. As far as you can see, the money that should have gone to SE has been used to beef up security in the region.until sanity is restored in that region, there can never be any meaningful development.

One Nigeria indeed. This ipob thing is one thing I never want to look its way but each passing day, the decisions of this govt keep pushing me to.

I wish Nigeria well if they force igbo non-tribal elites to see sense in that ipob agitation.angry
And who cares if you lead the iPob agitation ?

You know there was a typo in this figure right?? Even the article you're using as reference didn't put the SE as the lowest, it was the NE or so. Obviously the figure in the article was wrong

you are talking rubbish! How sure are you that the right one is from guardian?
So, you will rather believe the lie that only N2.9billion was allocated to south east even when confronted with facts that proves otherwise. Shm! Sucks to be a wailer.

You are certainly a man who wishes and prays that the 2.9billion story is true so you can justify your yeye paranoia and keep shouting and dancing about how the world hates and bullies and oppresses you.

But sorry, apply a bit of common sense and kindly tell me how N17billion for 2nd Niger bridge project is included under SE but yet the total sums up to 2.9billion?
Re: SE Governors Must Reject The Ministry of Power,Wks and Housing Budget Allocation by obailala(m):
PRXPERT:
I used to see you claim to be igbo, but guess what? You're very worthless! Sagamu -benin road you are talking about has nothing to do with SS! from ondo to Benin is very solid. People call it Sagamu -benin doesn't mean it will enter into benin..
I was only giving an example with the Sagamu-benin road; obviously not a good example because most of the road falls in the SW. But then, from the report by daily times, it clearly included the nigerbridge as a project in the SE.

And by the way, what does my claim to be Igbo have to do with this issue? Are tou okay? Why cant some grown up adults understand that not everyone is given to some foolish clannishness? Some of you can really be irritating. I guess in your wisdom, since I am Igbo then it means I should always put my common sense at bay and start wailing senselessly over non-issues?... I'm sorry bro, if that's the criteria for being Igbo in your small world, then I happily reject being Igbo. But that does not mean you can change who I am. Thanks

the N17billion is a seperate project for niger bridge. N2.9billion is the amount allocated to SE. I don't know what's wrong with all ye ofe.mmanuu guys. Your level of hypocrisy is too much. Do you forget that this second niger bridge will benefit the SS more.

From you comments, you already support biafra.
I dont know why this thread has not been taken down yet, but one thing I know, well meaning igbos will support a better igbo land and not this dying madness called biabia

Abughim onye ofe mmanu, abum onye n'eji isi ya eche echiche. I know a lot of you ipob guys wish and pray that the value was 2.9bn so you can justify your delusions and street madness, but sorry, here is an extract from the report by dailytimes which summarises the budget breakdown:

"For the South-East, it showed that some important projects are concession of 2nd Niger Bridge in Anambra and Delta States, N17 billion;"
http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/budget-s-west-gets-lion-s-share-of-projects/133692.html

In your delusion, only you knows what you mean by "N17billion is a seperate project for niger bridge," I suppose this 'separate' project is on the moon and it's not part of the Works Ministry's budget right?... And what do you mean by "second niger bridge will benefit the SS more"? how old are you even? undecided

I expect ngige to invest 90% of his ministries budget to SE and SS....the rest nigerians can manage the remaining 10%

Don't look at the monetary breakdown. Look at the number of capital projects. SE got the most. The allocation monetarily can't be equal to other regions due to a smaller land mass. We're about to get the 2nd Niger bridge.

Isn't the South East Geo-political zone the smallest in terms of land mass?

Do we know what projects this budget will fund? What about if this "paltry" sum is enough to cover the infrastructure projects set out for the South East?

Let us ask these type of logical questions before shouting tribalism...does budget allocation really matter as long as infrastructure commitments are met?

first the thread is misleading

Secondly if the thread is true then what you wrote here is laughably insulting to say the least..if you don't know it takes 250m naira to build a standard km of road so a 2.9 bn can only build roughly only 12 km of rd so you saying that the sum total of federal rds in the east is just 12km then God help you.

Thank you for the input. This is what I am referring to about logical thinking, we need to be scrutinizing information. If what you say is true, then obviously these figures (if they are official at all) need to be questioned.

My thoughts were in regards to transport infrastructure in which "all things being equal", there is a correlation.
Re: SE Governors Must Reject The Ministry of Power,Wks and Housing Budget Allocation by omonnakoda: 12:02pm On Feb 17, 2016
The South East is not, though they like to think they are,The equal of other regions. There is no basis for such pride. The SE is the same size as OYO state or Cross River State. At any rate the main project in the SW the Lagos Ibadan express road and the Benin road are in all honesty NOT for the benefit of the SW but the North and East. It is like saying the government spend billions on LNG project for the SS who is the beneficiary?

If government was spending for SW they would build a road from Ekiti to Lagos. They would build in Akure or Osogbo to Lagos .Those are project for the benefit of the SW but the are not happening.
Anyway the SE should purge themselves of this absurd idea of equality and focus on equity. They are the smallest region in population and size. Yes they have a huge population in other states but that population is utilizing infrastructure in those places and effectively are not part of the SE for this consideration. Many will never return to the south SE and effectively they are not SE people for budget allocation purposes.

If anything Lagos state has been short changed
