This is not the most embarrassing budget in Nigeria's history. It is nothing compared to the one's presented in the era of IBB, Abacha and OBJ. They put up ridiculous figures and no one could say a damn thing in objection. (Anyone remembers how many times the refineries have been fixed and re fixed since the 80's?) SR is just looking for traffic. Not saying this budget is a not a disgrace, but we still need to refer to and understand our history. We don't and that's why the same crap keeps on happening.

There is no new thing or big deal in the "embarrassing sections of the budget. Anyone who is learned and knows little about budgetting knows that in traditional incremental budgeting, departmental managers justify only variances versus past years based on the assumption that the "baseline" is automatically approved. A great percentage of the ridiculous allocations have always appeared there in the past budgets of other years and approved without noise. In fact, some of those allocations were reduced in this 2016 budget, which is then expected to be implemented using the touted zero-based budget model.

My guy, if you keep defending this budget of yams, I have to doubt your sanity. Seriously.

This budget of noise and mockery, I strongly believed will turn out to be the best in Nigeria. Surely those behind the downfall of this government will definitely be disappointed and shamed. Nigerians like most people here don't are not constructive with their ideas. It is very clear that most persons in government today both in the civil service and the national assembly are strongly against its success. Thank God the national assembly got it right this time by giving the full chance to do their job. It should not be a surprise that this manipulation has being in our budget in the past only for the executive to influence its speedy passage by the NA. There should be no need for fear, let the error be known and corrected. Let the NA do their job and stop making noise about errors. Those responsible for budget compilation and draft in the ministries/agencies as well as the office of budget of the federation should be properly investigated and sanctioned accordingly. All I see is politicians and enemies at work, but the interest of Nigerians is greater than theirs and will surely subdue them.

FYI, SR are the oldest members of the wailers club, they've been wailing against every single FG since the days of OBJ. Unfortunately many did not have access to the internet then so only realised the existence of SR under the days of GEJ.

I don't know why nigerian reason like this. This is the first time we are hav ing opportunity of having our budget so scrutinise in this manner. Give kudos to PMB administration. This is the stage where all the past leaders got it wrong instead of shara reports saying good things they are giving wrong news checked them critically there are bad eggs among them

The budget is a disgrace because of the relative transparency of the present government. the contents are better in reality when compared with past budgets. The naira is falling due to market sentiments and policies from the CBN, not because of the budget. The NASS should have passed the budget this month instead of further wasting time, so that implementation can start which would reflect in the economy and give it a lift. The NASS are just drama queens, they will still approve the budget of course with some adjustments as is dome yearly, but nothing major or surprising. We all know this, yet we commend them and encourage them to play to the gallery. Budget/appropriation bill is nothing, it's less than 10%. The real work is implementation and the so called zero based budgetting model they hope to employ, which is more strenous, time consuming and could end up as a bottle neck.
