Buhari produced the most honest budget in history. Yes, that is the Truth! People are aware of the mistakes because Buhari was simply honest and will not bribe lawmakers to pass the budget at all cost. The essence of scrutinising the budget is to detect fault in it. Kudos also goes to the Eagle eyed lawmakers who did their work sincerely. This is the change, a grateful departure from 'Ghana must go' budget passage.

that is what happens when a successor worked against his/her predecessor ( an educated predecessor 2 uneducated successor),

It was, though not so critically and not so openly i.e involving social media. The deliberations in the NASS are cheap political stunts. They will still pass the budget with the usual minor adjustments, additions and subtractions, and their approved benchmark for crude oil price. That is all. Unfortunately, they aggravated negative economic sentiments and postponed implementation of the budget. i.e the ministers and ministries are virtually on leave until the budget is implemented. The ones among them that will work can not do anything significant without the passing of the budget, so we are just wasting their time and ours.

i've not defended the budget. i've simply stated unrefuted truths about the budget being an improvement of past budgets. That is ABC of traditional budgeting. Simply compare past budgets with the current budget and you will see most of the same contents. It is the implementation of zero budgeting or proper implementation of both the current budget and its next that will/should weed out the ridiculous items. We(social media) and the NASS have simply made a mountain out of a molehill and hurt our economy further, one by undue postponing of the passage of the budget(which we both know is meaningless political gragra), and two, negative influencing of market sentiments in the economy.

There is no new thing or big deal in the "embarrassing sections of the budget. Anyone who is learned and knows little about budgetting knows that in traditional incremental budgeting, departmental managers justify only variances versus past years based on the assumption that the "baseline" is automatically approved. A great percentage of the ridiculous allocations have always appeared there in the past budgets of other years and approved without noise. In fact, some of those allocations were reduced in this 2016 budget, which is then expected to be implemented using the touted zero-based budget model.

Mr Man, this is too much grammar for nothing. It's not going to work. Nigerians would not sit by hopelessly and allow Buhari to sink the country.
