This is what happens when a currency is 90% dependent on a commodity item like crude oil.

Who are the mad people requesting for devaluation. We have not even devalued and the naira is about to hit the N400 ceiling. Apart from foreign buyers who are desperately calling for devaluation before it would be cheaper to buy our products, any other reason is untenable. We are in a fixed state, a terrible mess and we require an urgent redress of the present situation.

I still insist that the CBN maintains its official rate.

Let them continue blaming GEJ till it gets to $1 to 1000 before our eyes go clear. 12 yrs ago oil was this low but our economy never nose-dived like this.

Still the same amount because it is produced locally except the bailey which is imported, but I guess it can be sourced via the CBN official rate.

It will continue to slide until we are able to generate more FCY earnings which is being hampered because of the fall in crude oil price. Also, we have to change our consumption pattern, lets begin to patronize made in Nigeria goods. Import dependency and monolithic nature of our economy is telling on the citizens.

Thunder fire BUHARI and Osinbanjo!!!!!

May dia followers fall with the dollars!!!!

To be honest...it isn't PMB or PYO's fault.

Because of falling oil prices....we do not have the dollars to back up the naira.Hence the fall in the value of the naira.

What this govt is doing right now...is getting as much dollars as possible (Hence the war on corruption, and the banning of importation of certain items).

And yes...GEJ should have saved dollars. But if he had....we would still be in the same situation...only this time it would be next year.

The era of cheap money is over. You and your fellow naira and dollar eaters better get to work.

Why won't these aso rock landlords stop playing Nigerians like they so dumb. We ain't dumb people down here. They jus want some oil well owners to sale off to the new government so they can have a better financial say. We understand all that trick okay. Do it fast and lets return naira to the position where ordinary Nigerians will eat a meal a day. As far as humanity is concerned naira won't die in their hands. It will rise again.

NIGERIA! Tension gradually building up. Economy in shambles. Emotions get suppressed. Leaders fail to act right. Citizens already at war. Yet, Government lay blames and pretend everything is fine. Until a time when the centre can no longer hold, then many wrong things will happen. Unfortunately poor masses will suffer most! Only then will they choose to act. But it would be late. God save Nigeria!

It was sold at N385 yesterday.

Hello CHANGERS!

HELLO!!

If GEJ was still in charge....the same thing would have been happening.

And you would be saying....

Anyway....myquestion to you is....what should the government do differently? We no longer have enough dollars to keep the naira afloat because of falling oil prices. What is your solution?
