I still maintain that this Eze in another man's land syndrome is a slight not just to the host community, but to the Igbos. It is not out of place for a people to unite as a group in a host community and elect a leader, but parading oneself as a king (with palace) seeking for recognition and respect is wrong. They should stop Igbo kingship outside the shores of Igboland. Believe me, they know nothing about Igbo tradition and values, but are bunch of unrefined greedy folks seeking personal aggrandizement with less regard to Igbo values. Very soon you will hear that one ezendigbo was caught doing so so and so.

As it stands, you're the one who knows nothing about the Igbo culture.

Vanguard's report is not complete. It doesn't include the origin of the crisis (i.e. the leadership crisis between Dr. Alozie, Chief James Nduka Oramadike and Chief Alloy Obi).

When a nation is about to ruin, pride become their Hall mark, that is just advice for my Ibo brethren, look at what is happening to them in Lagos, Now IBADAN, before Ondo,. Why did this people stop the mentality of take it by force, where not in Israel, nor Palestine, Yoruba nation don't condone insult.

You cannot. Just like you don't see a Baale outside of Yorubaland, the same should apply to you guys. As much as we're one Nigeria, we cannot overstep our boundaries. That I have a co-tenant in my landlord's house makes us neighbours but never the same room owner. I cannot enter his apartment and put my legs on his table just because I do so in my house. It's an act of disrespect and gross indiscipline.

Disintegrating simply because you were refused the installation of ur culture in another man's land. This is too shallow. One ought to learn how to live together with people of different interest and values, and accept differences without exerting ones notion of right and wrong on others who hold different opinion. Anybody that goes with this your mindset can hardly maintain a simple family because at some point, your wife or children may disagree with your opinion.

What exactly is this " our way of life" that you are referring to?

And when did it become our way of life?

And where is your diaspora? Ibadan?
Get serious.
If you want to be the EZE, enter a bus to your village.

You insult the sensibilities of both Igbos and host communities with these ego- inspired, vainglorious display of arrogance and ignorance.

This EZE ndigbo nonsense is an embarrassment to Igbos.

I am glad they are being appropriately reprimanded for this juvenile nonsense.

Deji of Akure flogged one Eze Ndigbo the other time, you want the Olubadan and the Ibadan touts to flog this Eze Ibadan Ndigbo too? Fear God nah. Na person born the Eze Ndigbo too. This was how you people pushed the albino called Nanmdi Kanu until Bubu and DSS put him (albino) permanently inside cage. Now, you want to start pushing the fake Eze Ndigbos all over the place until Oba of Lagos dump them inside the Lagos Lagoon as promised or the Olubadan drown them in Ibadan River.

Eze, Oba,Igwe, Emir etc This titles are for traditional rulers in their domain; does that mean the Igbo cannot be under a non Igbo traditional ruler?

My reading of Achebe's "Things Fall Apart", in the 1980s when I read the book in secondary school, is that in traditional Igbo society, each clan or compound had a compound/clan leader but not kings as obtainable in other African cultures (e.g. Yorubas, Hausas, etc.). Suddenly, Igbo villages and hamlets in the 1980s started declaring themselves as autonomous communities with self-acclaimed traditional "rulers" laying claims to obnoxious and utterly despicable titles.

Nwanne, I live in the northern part of the country, and I tell you for certain that the kind of putrid and despicable behaviour and attitude of some Igbos here, especially the ones that seek for recognition, is quite regrettable. Bad as it is, they put the good ones that are in the majority in a bad limelight.

Thank you naptu2.
On top of what you have said, can those of you that are looking for any excuse to say this and that please note that there is no insinuation from the Olubadan-in-Council press release that the title of Eze Ndigbo in Ibadan is a problem?

Having ethnic leaders is not peculiar to igbos. yorubas have oba in Abuja, housas have saraki every where. let us learn to tolerate ourselfs

the link below confirms obas are in Abuja
