zuchyblink:@sankky If you read the post properly you will deduct that there is a power tussle within the leadership of the Igbo community. Even in the response given by the self acclaimed Eze Ndigbo, he said some people are deceiving the public and claiming that they are the Eze Ndigbo and this is why the Olubadan wants all of them to stop. There is no big deal in having a leader for your group in another town bit uts definitely a problem when you start fighting over this in another man's land. |

jcflex:You see,the Eze ndiigbo in where ever apart from Igboland does not equate himself to the paramount ruler of that place. Even the Eze ndiigbo himself is subject to the paramount ruler of that place. He is only a leader of his own tribesmen in that particular place. It makes for easier organization and peaceful co-existence of the people living there with their host community. What does Seriki (hope I got the spelling right)mean? Is it not same as king which is same as Eze in Igbo language? It doesn't really matter if they call themselves Eze,leader, ruler, director or even Oba of ndiigbo so long as they know their boundary and remain subject to the paramount traditional ruler of the land. Heck, even Buhari was even given a royal title in Igbo land during the last election campaign and nobody has called for his head. Yorubas should quit acting like sissies - it doesn't look good on them. |

They should also ban the Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadan, Alhaji Ahmadu Zungeru. But we all know that is not going to happen. ![]() |

Ganoderma:Did the Obi of Onitsha come to Yorubaland to install an Eze? How do you communicate with a group of people without a leader hence d Eze. Every tribe deserve a leader bt d crux of d matter is d word Eze that is intimidating d host community maybe they should change it to chairman of ndigbo. Also d Eze ndigbo is ceremonial n are subject to d palace chiefs or baales talkless of a whole Oba. Btw there Oba of Yoruba in Abuja. |

Smh in disgust! Please, please, and please... If you dont understand the title "Eze ndi-Igbo" in diaspora, please ask questions before you come on to a public forum like to display your high level of ignorance. Eze ndi Igbo in diaspora is just a representative of the Igbo's in a forgien land. He has no palace nor office like your Oba's and Emires, he's just the head of the Igbo association in his domain and is subjected to the law of the land. Please most of you guys should get your facts right before jumping to conclusion. Well, common sense they say is not common. |

The igbos are at it again. The Olubadan is the king of ALL residents of Ibadan land. Why must they create their own 'palace'? It is simple, obey and respect your hosts..abolish that title and simply be The Top representative of Of igbos in ibadan. The IPoD baboons will start wailing in their Facebook country. |

Karanka:. Sir seriki is not the same as Emir, find out from pple close to you. now, from your assertion upther, you said Eze should subject themselve to the king. but me and you know reverse is the case, some eze ndiigbo, even instigate their fellow igbo men against the king, just like we witness in Akure few month. Eze ndiigbo equating themselve with the traditional ruler of their host community is what is causing all this hullabaloo. igbo need to respect their host community tradition. with that am sure, there will not be any problem, and we will all live in peace. Thank you |

But why can the Government wage in and streamline all these non-indigenous kingship issues by giving them a common title like CHAIRMAN or CHAIRWOMAN of such Community, so that all the leaders of non-indigenous community should be recognised as Chairman/Chairwoman, instead of the current titles of Ezendigbo, Oba and Seriki. Government should also assist in conducting credible election for these leadership positions. |

Musiwa419:Bro my people are like that very greedy and selfish sometime very senseless I repeat very senseless because I don't know what they mean by challenging people in their own land to impose their useless Eze my foot. I'm sure one ewu (goat) will come here and say oh yoruba hate igbo or everybody hate igbo why won't everybody hate igbo You call for hate and was given to you so shut your mouth. Ucheosefoh:But then that's the issue here; you are using your own attitude towards such titles ( indifference) to judge others and their attitude towards such in their own land. That's wrong. Cultures are different and the importance given to the crown in yorubaland isn't same in igboland ( in fact from records the igbo culture isn't used to having kings hence the indifference). If your culture conflicts with another, especially on that other person's land, yours should be the one to pull back. This also applies to grazing fulanis who say its their culture to graze. If it causes conflict or discord in grazing areas outside Fulani land, the fulanis should be the ones to change their culture in those areas to suit the hosts. |
