Three University of Kinshasa students, Joel Bukuru, Giresse and Leon Nguwa Bagombisa could be condemned to the slammer for years, after their trial for ‘insulting the Head of State’ opened on Friday in Kinshasa.

The three have already spent eight and a half months in detention after their arrest on March 28..........

Like seriously, If Nepa takes light, we insult, fuel scarcity insult, water stops running, bigger insult, everybody will make the list, but i feel its wrong for congo to jail anybody for insult, Even the president of United states dont get praises all the time

I dont agree with you, congo is not better that Nigeria for jailing people that insulted the president, i feel its wrong for congo to jail anybody for insult, Even the president of United states dont get praises all the time

That's the basic fact many Buhari protagonists seem to forget: that less than 1 yr ago, the president and commander in chief of Nigerian armed forces was widely called unprintable names by those who suddenly want the presidency addressed with respect.

At that time, I warned them that having the freedom to express yourself, no matter how critical of the GEJ was your 1st amendment right(as if this is the US). GEJ foooolishly or wisely never really persecuted anyone for those insults. How about Buhari? ask Prof Danladi of Kaduna state university.

LIEnus Mohammed, Tinubu, Amaechi and plenty nairaland APC agberos would be in jail by now
