okay, thanks. Stanbic tampered with my savings account with some deductions in the name of stamp duty charges. i have sent them a mail because i remember listening to some CBN officials on Television stating that salary account and savings account are exempted from the charges so i was just surprise seeing the charges.

the charges are mandatory by CBN and its back up by fed government. u are only charged wen u receive money into ur account. I think it from 1000 above. they say na way to generate revenue for d economy.. I stand to be corrected

please i thought this N50 stamp duty is only applicable to current accounts alone, can someone confirm this also.

E surprise me o, they've deducted up to N400 in my savings account too. I don complain on Twitter and all they could do was confirm I was actually charged, even for money I deposited myself.

I was busy yesterday when they called me, I dey look them with side eye cos e still get one 7k+ wey hang for the account.

No one has said it is not a CBN directive bros!
The point is: THE CHARGES ARE FOR NON-PERSONAL DEPOSIT INTO A CURRENT ACCOUNT and not deposit into a savings account. What that means in a nutshell is that NO BANK has a right to charge you #50 stamp duties of even #1b if your account is a savings account.

It is not supposed to be applicable to savings account, that is what we are saying.

Was charged #200 by gtbank aside the normal #105 or so for transfer. Stanbic charged #50 for receiving. Just imagine.

GTbank charged me N52 last week savings account, i went to their branch to complain and they reversed it

honestly bro thats not the issue, i wanted them to know that i wasnt smiling with anyone..i remember back in 2014 when i payed using paypal tied to my gtbank card, i was debited same amount twice , when i complained via mail they told me my account was new .till today i havnt seen any refund.. i cannot let this one pass me

Skye bank charged me N65 for withdrawing via ATM, fortunately, that was the only time i have withdrew that month. I have sent them mail 3 times and they keep promising to look into it. I will continue to bombard them until it is released bc if you dont complain now, thats how they keep doing it and amassing wealth for themselves from several accounts

do you know how much they will be making from ignorant nigerians who will just sit and let it pass? its not like we dont pay for their services . Its high time nigerian banks are properly monitored
