Hmmmm this is serious oh, my humble advise is for you to pray against the spirit of INCOMPLETENESS IN YOUR LIFE.
The fact that there is no dignity of labour in our country now never mean there is not going to be or is not in another country. Never you forget that even the level you are today is still educational level OND that brought you their. those skills you possessed plus a higher academic certificate is an edge over others. please cool down and finish-up.

go learn a trade boy
You're probably deaf! Didn't you hear him talk previously that he loved getting engaged with computer works, and that he even tutors the so called 'First Class' students in CCNA, Web designing et al? He said he's got a penchant for something, not an ordinary thing, but an intellectual work which brings money into his pocket and stops him from requestin stipends from home anymore. Guy abeg grow up!

Re: Unemployment: I Am Losing Interest In Studies!! by Nobody:
I really wouldn't blame the OP's opinion. I had to call it a quit upon furthering my studies to the Masters and Ph.D levels. Someone curious might ask me why.

Almost rounding up my undergraduate studies as one of the best graduating students in my glorified department, i walked up to some lecturers, seeking retainment as a graduate assistant leturer, since the department is short of lecturers and my course is not offered in any other Nigerian university. That should have been an upperhand for me, but i got informed that my VC pegged a NO to the retaining of students as graduate assistants all because he no longer wants the school to be funding their postgraduate studies.

Me getting retained would have eased my path towards my desired, accomplishments. Now, if the university that built u up can't retain u, why would any firm even want u despite your years of labour for a certificate within the university walls.

My mind got transformed. Man must hustle to make it. Academics is out of my mind for now coz certificates won't make u wealthy. Only your skills n God can.

Without education, u might end up answering "sir" to ur mates.... Think it well
You are academically balanced but you are not educated.
Using sir for fellow male folks, be it a ten year old boy or a ninety year old man does not bring you down from the class you belong.
Are you higher than bankers, even their managers who adresses their customers as sirs?
huh huh huh

Don't really know if I should be worried with my new mindset or cram this jargons and just pass. I'm studying Electrical Electronics Engineering and I tell the truth studies no longer interest me! In fact I'm so angry when I see folks study sleeplessly.

Look at his long Aba tie, he has rubbed the board 20 times just to prove a.bc/2x° = x+x*2!yy

Nigeria's academic syllables is so archaic and uninteresting that one will never gain anything from it if not to cram and pass exams. I'm doing EE but daily I'm bombarded with some hyperbolic functions I'll probably never meet my entire life. To worsen it all the thought of being unemployed after graduation make me wanna give up and say: Sir can we go now? I wanna go learn comedy.

I did my one year IT in a small IT company. I've always loved computers, so I dedicated my time that before one year elapsed I was training people for CCNA -including so called first class graduates!!

Now I'm back to school. Just a minute introduction I did, I no longer call Daddy because I'm making enough to sustain me from fixing laptops, teaching people computer operation, blogging, web design etc

Thank God I attended a polytechnic, studied only two years and went to the real world to discover that the opposite of studying hard is knowing one fat senator!!

seun lalasticlala I ask again should I be worried of this mindset or just cram the next chapter and ready my 'blocking' money?

Anyways i go watch me episode 11 of this Adobe primere pro YouTube tutorial. Hmmm video editting is the skill I booked to acquire 1st quarter 2016

It is better to have a gun and don't need it than need a gun and don't have it.
You are living in the present. How about the future?

Remember that Soludo wanted to recalibrate the naira. People living in Nigeria were elated. Today, the same naira is N400/dollar. What changed? Life moves from present to future. That future is here and it sucks. When your future comes, will you look back in regret.

No one knows what tomorrow will bring. Stay in school. Get your education. Be the best you can be by graduating in flying colours because whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.

Gone are the days when one could brag with his academic qualifications.
NB: Life is how well and never how far.
Re: Unemployment: I Am Losing Interest In Studies!! by Observant: 6:05pm On Feb 20, 2016
Exactly this happened to me while I was in school, I rebelled against our curriculum in my second year after being thought a machine programming language from 1977, and doing engineering drawing manually with pencil cardboard paper and drawing board.

I couldn't bare the thought that I was being thought what I knew I wasn't going to apply in my life in a classroom meant for fifty people but now accommodate five hundred people for lectures.

Your guess is as good as mine, some people hung on the new Window to receive lectures but me because I'm so averse to mediocrity, hypocrisy and stupidity, I stopped coming to school in my third year.
I just looked for a part time job and also en backed on massive self development thanks to youtube and Internet.

I only came to school to copy exam timetable and to write exams.

My advise is, if you can take the bullshit just rigor yourself through it and make sure you graduate with 2.1. If you can sort to get 2.1 abeg sort no dulling. Since stupidity has become a norm just give the system what they want and move on.

If I get op correctly.... not that he is bored of studying period...but seeing that the programme is outdated..obsolete. ... a waste of time... like learning to be a VCD player technician. If the studies can't help take you to the next level...drop it.

This is what am saying, when you really do the opposite of your passion, that's how it feels. am in the same faculty with you, but my mission is not just to gain employment, if you really know what you are doing, Job will hunt you after graduation. so many people are studying MBBS because their friends are into it, or their parents want them to, thereby making it highly competitive. this is really why i love myself so much, employment or no employment, i believe that if i study the course i have passion for, God will surely bless me, so stop generalizing things, you are simply frustrated in your field, you really have to backup and forget about that your mindset before you end up had i known.

That you do web design, computer training for some people, etc i do all that, i simply believe that i can even design websites you can't code, so my brother, forget about your country's economy and focus on your future, don't ever live the life you will regret, i don't want to type much, a word is enough for the wise.

You don't understand the OP, you prolly might not even understand yourself too.

i'm exactly in the same situation right now. most times you just wonder if it all worth it. imagine a mechanical engr dats about going on I.T who learned to reapair i pass my neighbour from an artisan. yet my mumu lecturers will be slamdunking us a 1001 equations dat i dnt knw their real life applications.i hv always known i can do better than my current results but in Nigeria, 2.1 & 1st class no too get difference and person wey grad with 3.5 na still same with person wey grad with 4.49, so why bother?
Exactly brother, the LA cram la pour situation in our educational system is not encouraging. What they are teaching us in school is no more in use in the industry. Finish your program and come out with good grade. When you are through, you will have freedom to go after what you have passion.

Bro, my colleagues and I had a chat with an expert in the oil industry. He told us point blank that most firms no longer believe in Nigerian graduate because of our archaic syllabus. What they are teaching us in school does not meet up with the industry standard.
