I don't know why we keep dancing around as if there is something special about ikwere, ikwere is not the only igbo clan in rivers state so why this ikwere this and that?
If one ikwere man say i am not igbo then thats it for him, if another ikwere man says i am igbo then he is igbo. Lets keep this ikwere of a thing aside and focus on igbo as a whole. Thank you

Igbos are determined to attach themselves shamelessly to people who do not want their association. Its a shame.

It is very sad the lengths Igbos go to circulate falsehood but as far NL is concerned, im up for it
.Im very determined to always thwart the lies Igbos feed themselves by claiming Ikwerre as part of them.

Nigeria knows Ikwerre is separate from Igbo as the constitution affirms that. Truth is, Igbos are a lawless bunch and arent known to appreciate legality. But they must learn by all means.

On the contrary, i schooled him on that thread. The Onitsha spare parts dealer who claims he is from Rivers didnt know Eleme has common boundary with Onelga. I just quietly watched as he made a big fool of himself.

I have always advised him to concern himself with buying and selling and leave politics for politicians and social scientists.

It is on record that Oyigbo land belongs to Rivers aborigines most notably the Ogonis and Ikwerres

Here is the thread
https://www.nairaland.com/2855171/ijaws-secret-agenda-niger-delta/12#41867486

Show us what page you did the so called "schooling". Lying as if the thread does not exist.

In fact he even asked you to narrate to us all how two towns [eleme and oyigbo] with one town in between both of them [Iriebe] have common boundary.

You are way more pathetic than I thought you are. You are pitiful.
You are just confusing yourself. Is eleme a town or an LGA.. is Oyigbo also a town or an LGA... im talking about LGAs and you're talking about towns. Please quote me correctly. Eleme and Oyigbo share common boundaries and the aboriginal owners of that land arent the Ndoki/Asa igbos you find there.

You even brought a map to display your ignorance. So from your map, does Eleme and Oyigbo not share common boundaries??...

If you arent aware that Oyigbo LGA land was cornered from the aboriginal owners and then Ndoki people were planted there, you should do your findings.

I was about to comment until I saw the bold. Idk y it's becoming common for anioma accepting this claim of not being "pure Igbo". Even my cousin is starting to say this BS. Don't allow Nobody to bully you into accepting false claims. Dude you are pure Igbo. Hell we're even more pure Igbo than SE. Check your history very well and read theirs, you'll realize we are just as pure as them.

Anyway, I'm proud Asaba Igbo and nothing can remove that from me
This is due to years of being bamboozled by enemy propaganda that only the SE are "core Igbos",whereas an Igbo that's from agbor or obiarukwu is as core as one from Enugwu
The creation of Anioma is the only thing that'd stop this shit! angry

Please let's make this clear and lucid as possible....

IKWERRE IS NOT AND CAN NEVER BE IGBO, we share distinct traits, both psychologically and otherwise...... Please ikwerres are not igbos.... stop annexing yourselves, it's disgusting to us....

An average ikwerres man is open hearted, loves sharing and not dubious, this are obvious characters not exhibited by the igbos , so I wonder how you can even think we are similar let alone the same......

Hopeathand thanks for the mention, let everybody know the truth...

Yeah, let's make it clear since you share "psychological traits" amongst things. Ikwerre are Igbo period. It's a shame that people are there looking in the mirror and are confused as to who they are, yet Fulani like Buhari, Yoruba like Tinubu know who these clueless folks are, and that is among the reasons why Odili was not made Vice presido to Yar Adua. That is why Edwin Clarke, an agent for the feds, said that South south positions cannot go for Igbo (IKWERRE) lol.

Nonsense

I am not here to praise my tribe or rub shoulders with anyone. I am angry and pissed at the recent discovery I have made through my numerous travels in this country. I am so sad that God cannot even remove this pain in my heart. I feel so bad that these things are happening to my brothers. It started like just loving my brothers during the end of the year parties. I stayed around longer than my siblings in mingling with my fellow nanka smalls boys at Ojo road where we do celebrate the party. Why won't I love the party? Apart from the big rice and meat and many tamimoroko we enjoy in the party, I was given gifts for coming out first in class. So, it has been something I always enjoy. I enjoyed seeing my fellow kids and my dad will whisper in my ears that "look at them very well, they are your brothers". He will tell me how I was related to them.

Now, you get the picture of how I got love my people even when I didn't grow up in the village.

I have been to different states and I have seen things first hand how we have been dealt with and I have always taken time to research on how to bring our "knuckledhead" brothers back home.

When I heard that the Oshodi market was brought down, I said I should go there myself and ask questions. I believed that since I stay in Lagos, I can get firsthand information of what happened there, and not depend on online arguments to draw conclusion. I got there on a tuesday and went directly to my friend's place. His name is Omoh, an Urhobo guy from Delta state. I didn't ask him any question when he told me what happened. Laughing at me that my brothers should be wise that what he saw there was deliberate act of destroying igbo businesses. In his words, truthfully, I quote

"It started like a joke when I saw a them destroying shops and the traders were blocked from entering their shops to even take their goods. One of traders even offered to bribe one of the security men with about 500,000naira. They said no. One of the traders sat down opposite the site and was reading "complete sport". He was just murmuring and crying under his breath that he is finished. He just imported goods of over 5million naira in the shop. He was just devasted."

As he was talking, I shed tears but had to cover my face to form "strong man". He said my brothers should take it as hostility turned physical.

I went to the market directly opposite the said market and I got information about it from them. Things were not clear but what was clear was that, it was an attack against us.

Before I left Lagos in January, I heard that the trade fair will be Converted to trailer park. We have many igbos in that market, who built houses around Ojo LGA. They will soon be rendered jobless and without businesses. It will be a pathetic situation if that happens. We need to strategise the best ways of making these people go home. You might feel unconcerned because they are not your blood relatives but the truth is, when they are rendered jobless, they will the ones you do offering in church for to cater for them.

Now, I came to Kano due to the nature of my job to deal with some sites here in Kano. Before I left Lagos, I heard that igbos dominate a place called sabon gari. When we got down from the airport and was going to our hotel, I asked the driver to first, take me past, sabon gari area before heading to the hotel called "grand central hotel" owned by Atiku. I saw how the place looked tattered. No good roads, just dirty shops.

Igbos have investments in the north. Very big investment, even with the dirty shops. Igbos clearly dominated the area. With hotels, schools, canteens, businesses the mainstay there. But we have a problem, the hausas are trying to be smart, they are doing every form of trading igbos do. They are trying to push us out of the state. Even as they have chased the igbos out of other parts of the capital and limited them to sabon gari. They have come to sabon gari to encroach more and more. It is their land I know but there is no freedom in Kano for the igbos. Some of our girls have turned into prostitution, while some sell in taverns. It is not a very good site because, it looks like a dejected place to the normal Northerner. A place for the "others". The roads are untarred, no light there, everything is wrong there. The rate of prostitution there is high. The hypocrites will come there and ease their sexual urge and leave. They see there as sodom and gommorah. Our brothers are suffering just to do business. Its very bad.

I have seen many buy I can't go on because that's not the reason why I am writing you all.
Re: NDIGBO UNITY THREAD... Ndigbo United We Stand, Divided We Fall by Silentmind(m): 9:26am On Feb 21, 2016
I am writing you all now because I believe you are all youths with a vibrant spirit and most probably the future of our people. Our lackadaisical attitudes towards things will spell doom to us in the recent future if we don't start to act now. Who do you expect to open doors for you when you can't even open your own doors. Everyday we clap our hands that our governors are doing things that should've been done like 20years ago.

An average igbo man or woman sees the east as a retirement home. He doesn't believe that he will make billions there. He feels going back to the east means resigning from active life. Its means life struggles are over, just go and do small farming. He feels he needs to leave his fatherland and go elsewhere before he can be regarded as somebody.

That should not be the case, we shouldn't relegate our home to retirement homes. We shouldn't make it look as if living there isn't worth it. We blame our rich men who do not invest in the east but to be frank, how much profit will he make from staying in the east and competitors taking the market in Lagos where all of you have run to. Do you think they are been inconsiderate because they invest in Lagos? No. He can argue that the pooulation of igbos in Lagos is more than that in Ebonyi. He has a point even though its stupid.

The igboland needs rebranding, it needs money to flow in it. Let me explain business opportunity to you. Its like a king who threw coins on the ground and wanting people to pick from it. If he throws plenty money on ground, more people will get more money but if he throws few, less people will get less money. Igboland needs money to open its potential. Our governors do not have money to fully open the region. They will only but they will still lack that extra touch to make an economic vibrant states. The states needs you and your input no matter where you are. We don't have rich states but we have rich people. We have people that can upturn the fortunes of the states if we try as mucg as possible to work and make it happen.

Plans are in place to revolutionalise the east but the problem is you. You only argue online but do nothing in real life to make it good. Its time to work and suffer now. Because tomorrow will come when a new dawn comes.

We as a people should take practical step to develop the South East. One thing that can give us an edge is intellectualism, coupled with technological development. What Innoson is doing in Anambra State can serve as a template.

We should tone down a little on trading and promote economic growth through intellectual and technological advancement.
We should build schools that emphasis more on technology and business oriented profession. With capacity to churn out more graduates that can single handedly take on the economy without relying on any government institution.

We should also work as a body to realize the long overdue Anioma State….. The Igbos should unite on a practical stand, rejecting too much rhetoric and chest-beating. I rest my case.

Re: NDIGBO UNITY THREAD... Ndigbo United We Stand, Divided We Fall by attackgat:
I'm an Anambra man and as far as Im concerned, an Anioma man is as Igbo as I am. A Rivers Igbo indigene is as Igbo as I am. I visited Elele in Ikwere LGA a lot as a kid and I saw no difference between the Ikwere people there and me. They spoke clear pristine central Igbo and their Ikwere language was just another Igbo dialect anyone can find anywhere in Igboland. There is no Ikwere man alive who speaks Ikwere that does not speak Igbo. Not one. The only difference between the Igbos of the 5 South East States and the ones in Delta,Rivers and the lower Benue is that they have been influenced by being in close proximity with other non Igbo tribes. Customs and language may be affected however, they are no less Igbo than I am. this why as an Anambra man, I want Anioma people or what some people refer to as "Delta Igbos" to have Anioma state away from the Isokos,Urohbo,Ijaw and Itsekiris. I also want Porthacourt state for the Ikweres,Oyibos,Ndokis,Etches and all the Igbos sub groups to get away from Ijaws and Ogoni who regard them as 'stupid Igbos'. I want the Igbos of the lower Benue, the Umu-Ezeokah people incorporated into Enugu people. This will strenghten Igbo unity and reduce this identity crisis that exists in some places
