Golden morn is a no no for now. If she doesn't want cerelac, try other cereals.
it an infant cereal doesn't mean it cannot be taken by infant wat it simply means is that it is not restricted to infants alone like d likes of cerelac and can b taken by d whole family and since it is not specifically made for infants it just to enrich it by adding the appropriate milk, it's just maize and it doesn't hv any harmful constituents. Just my opinion.

My in-laws said I should start sitting my boy from 4 months but ryt now he doesn't like being held like a baby. He prefers being kept in a sitting position and when you do that he starts laffing, he is 3 months one week. They baby girls sit from 3 months while boys is 4 months.
For blocked nose in babies, the sucking part is what I really can't do. I was taught another method, blowing air into one nostril and all the stuff in the second nostril flows out.

The only thing i can say is the heat nowadays is demonic. God help us as nepa don do collabo with mr sun and heat to deal with us. What i do to help my son is whenever he is sweating, i put wash clothe like face towel in cold water, squeeze the water out and use to damp his body instead of pouring him cold water that can lead to cold. I do this as often as possible and it helps alot. Rashes disappeared within a day. So when nepa strikes, our wash cloth and cold water is out.
Hope this helps

mamas how una? my twins just finished episode of diarrhea for the first time in their lives. epic movie.
they will be one in two weeks *yay*
no major milestone. I was expecting that by now they would have started walking (for where) they can't even stand on their own yet sad and because of that no byday for them. I can't be carrying pikin upandan when I'm supposed to be dressed as sexy twin mama grin (I suppose sakara small na)
my sons major type of play is 'I-bite' he will look at you, smile, and wham! his teeth on your skin. I've tried all sorts of oyinbo. from "stop it, no, bad baby, naughty, not good, painful," and even pretending to cry. but instead he will just put on his evil grin and attempt the next bite.
I can't lie *covers face* I've bitten him back before. (it pained me na) but still.... and even when I tapped his mouth once, he gave me correct slap.
he behaves like an old man.
twin girl is still busy mimicking everybody. eats like always and is bigger. but brother *rolls eyes*

I rest my case

There is no thought that babies are indeed bundle of joy, but sometime we mothers/fathers face so many challenges raising our kids, so i want us to use this avenue to discuss any issue concerning them(our kids) here!!!!!! For example, my 8weeks old boy sleeps only 6 hours @ night but seems to enjoy more time sleeping during the day, but i must confess am not too happy about it at all, but what every1 is saying its normal.......... Nairalanders Is this normal?

I guess ur calculation of pregancy is wrong.counting from ur lmp,u hv 40wks journey which is 10month dat is because one is counting from the 1st day of ur last flow.
From 38wks,one is said to be full term n labour can start anytime from there.there is also 2wks after 40wks.i actually gave birth @ 41wks.

Pls go to pregancy thread n u will learn more der.

@sayoberry, Humm my boy does not only bite, he pinches too. That their tiny teeth are so sharp.
When I get tired of speaking English, straight way, I bite or pinch him back. He doesn't get tired, as he is crying, he continues his biting or pinching.

He does it to his creche mates and other 2 years old kids in the next class. Infact, he terrorises them with bite.

When the pupils of my school just see me, they will say Mummy Flourish, Flourish can bite ooo.

Pls mamas when is the right time to start potty training?

Many people start from about 10months but it depends on the child. Girls are typically faster than boys. With some people in "the diaspora", they wait till over 2 years before starting sef.

How old is the individual in question?

Do.you feel he/she is ready?,

You can try and see if baby will cooperate

Good luck

@missybol- it might be an allergy. Is there an accompanying fever? Please see Dr and lets know what they say so we too can learn.

Please if anyone still wants the cup of Desitin maximum strength Diaper cream (40% zinc), it's available. smiley

And for mummies who have exuberant babies, May I suggest swimming as an activity to wear them out? We finally got our swim diapers and used the pool which was wasting. Baby E complained a bit, splashed a lot and wanted to do pass herself (so she drank water grin). That was the time she cried, though she did cling onto my hair and swimsuit for good measure. We went underwater a bit too.

Some safety precautions: only do this if you can swim, stay in the shallow end (where you can stand up), you can use a floater (but my friend's wife teaches without the floater for babies as she says they remember how it feels to be suspended in liquid) and maybe use a private pool if the baby is less than 1 year (I know Ikoyi club has a baby pool that is heated and will take 1 year old baby for swim lessons with their swim coach).

But oh the rewards after! Baby E was so hungry she wept for food (a first! ) and slept as if she did night vigil, then ran Lagos Marathon. grin plus swimming is good for this current heatwave we are experiencing in Lagos.

I wish I could post pics of us in the pool...

I am in Lagos. It was a private pool (in family house). Ikoyi club has a baby pool so if you know a member, they can take you in. I heard on the mainland, Sunfit gym has a pool and I used to hear about Alaka estate having a swimming place.

you can get a pool noodle (those long colorful things, they are at Ikoyi club but I'm sure you can buy them at the Sports stores in Ojuelegba), I like them better than floaters. And follow this video (my sis used it and it works on building their confidence in water).

I've tried a teaspoon or less of raw pap for my children and unbelievably it worked. Again that's just my own method sha.
I am also aware that stooling is a viral condition and will mostly just have to run its course! Do ensure the child is well hydrated keep giving lots and lots of fluids and use nappy cream to prevent a rash.

Hope this helps

Please google up red acalypha and compare the images. I'm not at my desk so cant immediately confirm with the pictures of the leaves I have stored.

To use rinse the leaves moderately. And then place in a clean pot and fill with clean water. I prefer to boil on low heat so the juice really gets extracted. Then you bathe with the liquid after it's boiled and cooled down.

Please do NOT give baby to drink under any circumstances.

Replace the water in the pot and then boil again when its bath time.

Also use a dark coloured towel because the liquid leaves stains!

Hope this helps

Maybe half a teaspoon would be just fine for him. I'm hoping you make pap yourself at home? Or at least you source from a reliable place!
