Lool! Be subbing United o. Coming from someone that his team's only chance of showing off a UCL trophy is by photoshopping one into their trophy cabinet.

Leave story Jare...

An inform Chelsea would have performed better than this trashy team.
Chelsea unquestionably has better players but their engine knock this season cheesy

Arsenal/Wenger is so useless!

All they needed to be at least two goals up by half time was a half decent striker and quality winger.
But the useless prof loves a mediocre like Giroud, while bumping up Walcott's wage.
A player who wouldn't make any elite team's bench.

Meanwhile Barca is really poor at the moment.
Dunno what's happening with them.
The over-dependence on MSN will still harm them

Speaking of Mertersacker, did you see his post match interview?

They asked Per who was clearly close to tears if Arsenal could go to Nou Camp and get a result.

He took a deep sigh and said "I think we should focus on the league for now"

That's why his name rhymes PERfectly with muthafucker

You thought Nigerians are the only ones tired of repeated fixtures and other discrepancies in UCL current format? Sit tight and expect a change of format....

Smh at uefa. Who also feels that UCL is becoming stale, predictable and boring?

Well English Teams are part of this cos relegated teams make super cash than the ucl winners. What an irony Is this the reason EPL teams arent perturbed atall? The 'lets just have fun' mentality is there. And to think that english teams contribute a whooping 50% of viewership, cash is ironic.

“Over the last five seasons we have seen Champions League audiences fall 38%,” Sky Sports chief Barney Francis wrote last summer when Sky handed over its Champions League broadcast rights in the UK to BT Sport. “Last season, we saw our lowest ever average match audience and not a single European game appeared in our top 40 football matches.”
This season the figures read even worse. The Champions League, evidently, is losing its grip on popular consciousness, especially in England where domestic matches remain a far bigger draw. To compound that reality, a recent report in theThe Telegraphrevealed that the decision to move Champions League coverage from terrestrial broadcaster ITV and subscription channel Sky Sports to BT Sport in a £900m deal has seen audiences plummet.
Around 4.5 million people combined watched the Champions League play-off games broadcast last season on ITV and Sky Sports. For a comparable match this season, Manchester United’s play-off matches against Club Brugge, the average peak viewing numbers sunk to around one million on BT Sport’s free Showcase channel and European football channel. Around five million people combined watched the final on ITV and Sky Sports in the UK last season; time will tell how BT’s figures stack up against that.
That five million figure pales in comparison to when an English side was last in the final. Around 9.7 million tuned in to watch Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties in 2012. There is no replacement for native success but there is no real financial necessity for English clubs to prioritise the Champions League given the disparity in income in that competition and what’s on offer at home.
The monotony has made Barca the only team worth drooling over. Not even Madrid, Juve, Bayern can draw continental following to a fanatical extent.

Get ready for the new format!!

Exactly. It beats me how Arsene Wenger is able to use the kind of players in Arsenal to challenge for honors each year. Over 80% of Arsenal players won't make any elite team's bench talk more of first 11. Imagine if it was Ibrahimovic that had that chance jonsin Giroud passed for goal kick.

The game plan wasn't so bad but low quality finishers, a split second of 'going off', and FLAMINI ruined things.

A 10-man Barcelona team also beat Chelsea in 2009 with the away goal rule to qualify.

Abidal was given an undeserved red card.

The easy, cakewalk league known as la liga, that only have 2-3 good teams, are what? 6-0-0 in the first round of both tournaments? While the unquestionably best league in the world, aka "the greatest show on earth" is now what, 0-2-3? Lol. La liga superiority shows itself time and time again. England had its time, but the past decade and a half belong to Spain. Go ahead and have a seat boys, we'll let you know when you're allowed to play with us again.

poor?. Which team have played. 8 games in 20 days without defeat?.... They knew arsenal only play for '70" minutes and they utilized the opportunity by playing with less energy in first half and coming out hot in second..

Chief grammarian sir, cheesy

Unfortunately you also suffer from selective amnesia to have missed the extra man( Referee), whom aided the your staying alive in the one of the fixtures (can't remember which of the legs anymore).

Plenty of refused penalty pleas that night.
Barca robbed Chelsea more to be honest.

But the 2012 match was brutally against Chelsea.
Poor in the league, against a Messi enjoying his personal best season till date.
I still commend Chelsea for staying alive till this day.

Torres late goal sent Accra crazy that day grin

Only useless English teams like Arsenal and Manchester City will succumb easily over two legs.

You missed the point.
The match should have been over by 70mins if Arsenal had a decent mobile striker who had even little technical ability and a winger like Martial.

Flimsy excuses here and there. Fact remains that this same "toothless" Arsenal is 2nd on the log of their league, while the team Martial plays for are not even in the top 4.

Wenger is the professor of football. It is not a mistake that Barcelona has never won at The Emirates.

No matter the MSN or Yahoo messengers Barca come with, Wenger will always device a plan to counter them. He even said it is easier preparing for Barca than Hull.

It is on situations as this that you see the best of Arsenal, when pressure mounts our boys come gunning left, right and centre.

It will be impregnable Monreal up against Messi, and I am sure he will stick it up Messi's ass.
