There's no fund to cater for them any longer after all the state money have been looted all in the name of "CHANGE" that will NEVER come to pass. I'm still glad he will finance their education here in Nigeria. I wish the students best of luck in their endeavors

The Rivers State government came up with the decision and if l had a family member amongst those studying abroad l will rally around to see that he/she graduates there than coming back home, no matter what it takes or should l waste money suing the State government?

What do l personally have to gain rooting for either Amaechi or Wike when both are contributing nothing to my existence. Go through my threads and posts. it will be clear to you that these two men are very far from my interests.

By your reasoning, it was a total waste of time sending both Nnamdi Azikiwe and Okonjo-Iweala to America to study, as they both spent several years afterwards abroad acquiring further experience, instead of returning home straightaway. If this isn't an illustration of a short-term mentality on your part, nothing is.

Cheap nationalistic rhetoric might score you some "likes" from the envious and the ignorant, but the idea that even the best Nigerian universities (let alone a place like RSUST) are on-par with Oxbridge, the Ivy League, MIT, Caltech and Stanford, is simply delusional. but feel free to keep lying to yourself that studying in Nigeria is an acceptable alternative for the brightest young people we have to offer - young people who have proven themselves able to compete with the world's best and even outshine them, when they've had the opportunity to do so.

I'm not really suprised people in Nigeria consider this decision logical and best for the economy, because most of you don't really have an idea of what this means to the be students and families involved. As an international student I see and know first hand the daily struggles with this issue and the excuse for such decision is even more appalling. Lack of funds? I think they could have come up something better. My point is, while I don't expect Nigerians to be sad, I don't also expect supportive comments to the government either because decisions like this set the nation lite years behind. This students are being schooled in a developed nation with hope of returning and making use of their skill but no..."we cant lose our legal pocket money for that". God bless Nigeria sha
Btw those ranting about Nigerian guaduates being better than those schooled abroad, with all due respect to our educational system and to you, hope you know that another myth in Nigerian educational system?

Lol,why would Amaechi allocate scholarship to his cronies who in turn allocated such to their wards , kids and relatives after stealing the people dry ?

If any scholarship scheme is to be embarked upon it should be solely based on merit irrespective who gets it at the end of the day as long as he or she is a native of Rivers State .
Let them come back or fend for themselves joor!
