The easy, cakewalk league known as la liga, that only have 2-3 good teams, are what? 6-0-0 in the first round of both tournaments? While the unquestionably best league in the world, aka "the greatest show on earth" is now what, 0-2-3? Lol. La liga superiority shows itself time and time again. England had its time, but the past decade and a half belong to Spain. Go ahead and have a seat boys, we'll let you know when you're allowed to play with us again.
The EPL is still the best league in the world!

Two traditional giants Liverpool and Man united are passing through tough times times, and that is the only reason England is poorly represented in Europe.

And are we going to pretend that La liga has any other really truly outstanding UCL team asides Barca?

2005-2015
3 different EPL teams has won.
Only 2 La liga teams has won.

EPL teams has made the finals 8 times combined.
La liga has made the finals 6 times combined.
But Only Barcelona has made it four of these times!

English teams was dominant in European competitions in the 70's -80's, but Serie A and La liga still had more glamour/appeal and still attracted the biggest stars in the world.

English teams have better mid table teams at the moment and is more entertaining.
Nobody enjoys a league where the decisive games are the Classicos, or where loosing or even drawing with any team asides Barca/madrid is termed a disaster.

I watch Barca/madrid games sometimes and shake my head.
Teams can't just finish chances and score, then they end up getting trounced because they have clueless teams who would foolishly go out to attack gung-ho against a Real/Barca.

EPL is most attractive league, because there aren't poor teams.
Unlike La liga where two three teams eat the lion's share of the TV money.

The result is a Leicester team that has spent it's money well and is top of the league right now. cheesy

Flimsy excuses here and there. Fact remains that this same "toothless" Arsenal is 2nd on the log of their league, while the team Martial plays for are not even in the top 4.
Don't be silly!

There are sparkling players in lesser teams everywhere.
Even in La liga, aren't there better defenders than pique playing in lesser teams?

Sparkling players my foot. Even in Europa, your so-called sparkling epl players are average when faced against average teams.

Your sparkling Arsenal are not as good as Malaga. At least they posed a formidable opposition against Barca and Madrid.

Wenger is the manager with most defeats in the UCL history...

Now that we are calmer, my thoughts on the game:

1. I didn't expect us to qualify so expectation was low and defeat though painful, didn't affect me much

2. I was surprised we were able to keep the game at 0 - 0 for 70 minutes. That's not a mean feat against Barca and Messi, Suarez and Neymar in particular

3. All the players did well. I kept my closely on our formation when we Barca had the ball and we were so disciplined except for those two mistakes. Kudos to the entire team.

4. If we had taken at least one of our chances last night, we should be saying something different today.

5. I blame Wenger for the state of our team to be honest. We can blame Giroud, Chamberlain, Ramsey for not taking their chances but players can only play to the best of their abilities. I personally can't believe how we have kept Giroud as our top striker for 4 years running.

Overall, I'm almost glad we are out(?) of the CL. We tend to do better in the league at this stage most likely because we have less games to play. Given the way this season has gone in the EPL, we have a realistic chance of winning it so time to focus.

Chief grammarian sir, cheesy

Unfortunately you also suffer from selective amnesia to have missed the extra man( Referee), whom aided the your staying alive in the one of the fixtures (can't remember which of the legs anymore).

Excuses. More excuses. The only kind of retorts you give to explain away EPL teams failures against Barcelona.

Plenty of refused penalty pleas that night.
Barca robbed Chelsea more to be honest.

Was there any injunction barring Chelsea from scoring from open play? There goes your excuse - out the window and fluttering in the wind.

But the 2012 match was brutally against Chelsea.
Poor in the league, against a Messi enjoying his personal best season till date.
I still commend Chelsea for staying alive till this day.

Torres late goal sent Accra crazy that day grin

Only useless English teams like Arsenal and Manchester City will succumb easily over two legs.

Arsenal and Man. City are top EPL teams and no walkovers. Barça's victories (amongst others) over them lends further credence to the superiority of La Liga since the turn of the 21st Century.

Prior to the game I knew our players were no match for the highly in form Barcelona, however when the match commenced there was a bit glimmer of hope. While watching the game yesterday, I told someone immediately chamberlain got injured that Arsene Wenger planned the game on chamberlain's pace and his injury will definitely cost us. This was proven when arsene wenger refused to sub him during half time and had to see him limp about in the early stages of the second half before finally taking him off. From then on the game went down the drain. Sincerely Arsene Wenger is a rigid coach whose game plan is not flexible and easy to read and his tactics cannot win something tangible in this modern world when faced with formidable opponents. I think Arsene wenger has really done well for the club with his financial discipline, prudency and cost saving method of managing the club over the years.
However, I think its high time Arsenal moved from the era of being a competitor and start challenging for major titles and with Wenger in charge I don't see that happening soon. In my opinion I think a new coach with sizeable years of experience taking over at the emirates will not be bad afterall. At least now we have the money, someone like Julian Draxler playing in place of Ramsey will not be bad afterall.
On a lighter note I think Walcott and Chamberlain should be lent to Britain's Olympic 100m team, maybe they can finally unseat Usain Bolt cos it seems racing is the only thing they are good at.

Na only that one you see? You never see where your guys here say:
Ozil is better than Iniesta, Alexis than Neymar, Bellerin than Alves, Monreal than Alba, and even Coquelin than Busquets?
One even go carry stats come to buttress the claim. Na wetin we never read for this thread? And when 90% of Arsenal players are better than Barca players, that means Arsenal is far better than Barca.

D
The competition for mid table teams aka Europa cup Sevilla has tiurned it into their birthright while Everton, Spurs Liverpool cant do anything

If it was that easy as you wrote barcelona wont be beating City every year home and away. or Barcelona wont be beating one of EPL top teams Arsenal or Madrid wont be sodomising Liverpool like they did last season or Atletico wont be battering Chelsea like they have been doing . Last 3 meetings between Atletico and Chelsea have ended 7-2 on aggregates

There arent poor teams yet they get beaten badly anytime they get to Europe

We dey wait leicester City for CL next season to come and do their magic. Its because EPL is useless thats why a Ranieiri would even dream of topping it

It's a pity we lost after matching them man to man for over 70mins of the game. Their exceptional quality and our poor finishing eventually getting the best of us.

I am not delusional as some think. I am simply supporting the club I love. I may take positions of opinions that are clearly sentimental, that doesn't mean I do not know the facts.
